Interesting article. The thesis is the Burka, hijab, et al are NOT religious garb for piety’s sake. They are “do not rape me - rape the infidel women around me not wearing them” signs.
In effect, they are the rape spotters as a forward OP would be a spotter for artillery.
Having traveled in the Middle East several times (UAE and Qatar) I’m always stunned to see those little women wrapped in black burlap sacks following several steps behind their masters (husband, father, son, etc).I don’t know if the burlap sacks are about violence but they’re surely about domination...letting women know that they’re just some guy’s annoying accessory.
Some are arguing the command to cover isn’t in the Qur’an, but it is.
Burka’s and burkinin’s indicate a TOTAL dedication to sharia law.
The women is telling everyone she is a bigot who will never accept the non muslim, or Kafir.
In the end, the women is a victim, unable to make choices about her life outside of Sharia law.
For your interest...
Muslim women dont wear hijabs, burkas or any other similar garb as a fashion statement or even an expression of religious piety. Their own religion tells us exactly why they wear them.
O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies that they may thus be distinguished and not molested. (Koran 33:59)
Its not about modesty. Its not about religion. Its about putting a Do Not Rape sign on Muslim women. And putting a Free to Molest sign on non-Muslim women.

Exactly the point I was trying to make the other day...
Laws about how one dresses? Seriously? That should not be something any legislative body should waste their time on.
In the Minnesota Twin Cities, a.k.a. New Mogadishu, it is common to see women and girls cloaked in burkas, while the men dress in jeans. In this liberal la-la land why don’t the feminists protest this obvious repression of women?
