They've been living in refugee camps so yes they are refugees.....not uncommon they bounce from one camp to another...in their country that's better living than in a war zone...they make the caps permanent dwellings...far better than in the wild in straw huts.

Sure, they’re “refugees.” My point is that once they cross the ocean and move to the USA, they’ve become immigrants. I don’t think such an arrangement easily accommodates resettling back in their homelands, after hostilities ease.

In my mind, a “refugee” is someone who is temporarily displaced, and who expects to return home at some point.
