First Congolese refugees arrive in Missoula
MTN News ^ | Aug 20, 2016 | staff

The first family of refugees arrived in Missoula this week, marking the beginning of the re-opened International Rescue Committee office efforts to make Missoula home to over 100 refugees over the next year.

Missoula IRC office director Molly Short-Carr says the family is doing well and just beginning to figure out how to use household appliances like their stove, and which foods they can substitute to make meals they are familiar with.

The family of six is from the Congo where they fled a civil war before 2005. Since then, they lived in refugee camps in Rwanda, Tanzania or Uganda. Several children come with this group, having grown up in refugee camps. They have never been in classrooms like those in Missoula's public schools.

Short-Carr, who just moved from the African continent herself where she was working with refugees, is expecting 25 refugees, before the end of September.

The local group Soft Landing is assisting the IRC with resettlement efforts and organizers are in need of volunteers and financial help to support incoming families.

What pagan god did they offend badly enough to deserve being sent to Montana? Did anyone take the winters in Montana and the winters in the Congo into account before deciding on destination?

Sure, they’re “refugees.” My point is that once they cross the ocean and move to the USA, they’ve become immigrants. I don’t think such an arrangement easily accommodates resettling back in their homelands, after hostilities ease.

In my mind, a “refugee” is someone who is temporarily displaced, and who expects to return home at some point.

Yes. Conrad’s book is about how Europeans were actually the savages in the ways they treated the natives, and the ways their civilized ways and technology fell apart because most of them didn’t have the inner strength to maintain them under the pressure of a new place and without an overlord to tell them what to do.

Was the hyena wearing a braided bamboo muzzle? Those are the Lagos street gangs. They make MS-13 look like a glee club.

Anyone from anywhere minority and guaranteed to vote Statist

For instance we sure take very few white Christians unless they jump through huge hoops

For instance everyone I know from South Africa or even going back to Rhodesia had a rough time getting through the morass even then

The Dems control immigration process bureaucracy here and it’s enabled them to keep power even as an aging white population grew more conservative

When we become a minority majority nation there will be no return

Like South Africa

Mountain View, CA is heart of silicon valley. Foreigners in that town are likely to be above average. Significant portion of high-tech businesses in Silicon Valley are started by foreigners. Very expensive area to live. Try finding a small apartment rental under $2000/mo.

>They’ll soon graduate to learning how to use a real toilet.<

Our area has had “immigrants” relocated here. When they first came, the newspaper reported the children would defecate in corners of the classrooms, as they had never seen a toilet before and could not communicate their need, anyway.

Imagine being such an outsider? Thus Obama creates another permanent, angry, unassimilated member of the underclass, subject to easy government control and racial pandering.
