After all the efforts that so many in the Republican Party have made to get everybody to sign on to amnesty, who would have believed that it was Donald Trump who’d come along and have the Republican base essentially saying, “So what? No big deal.”

If Trump comes out squarely for amnesty, forget it.
The base will not vote for amnesty.

There would be a chance I could buy into what he was saying except he was talking about how ironic it was that Ann Coulter’s book and how frustrated she was.

It was at this point I turned it off.
I have tried to give Rush a try again after he went “full-throated” on Amnesty Boy.
I no longer trust him.
Rush's number one priority is keeping a large audience. He lost me a long time ago. He loves the Bush family, which might explain his anti-Trump talk.
On a more positive note, I heard a woman today explaining why polls of likely voters, usually the most reliable, are missing lots of Trump voters. Many Trump supporters have never voted before and thus are not in the category of "likely" voters.
I don’t think it will be any surprise that he is going to support the same touch back amnesty plan that Pence put forward 6 or 8 years ago. The idea was roundly criticized here on FR by the same people who are now going to be saying that it is genius.
There were some people here on FR pointing out for the last several months that Trump’s plan from the beginning was touch back amnesty.
All that glitters isn’t gold.

Whatever you want to think... but it is pretty clear you are just believing what others are saying about him. Others who don’t get sarcasm either.
Deportees are prohibited for 10 years from applying for a green card. If they go home and apply now, they will get to the front of the line faster than those who wait.
No new laws to benefit those breaking them.
I assume Rush is laughing at people like me (who he mocks as “Trumpists”). Now I just assume he is lying when he says anything.
Rush has been pretty clear that he believes we would accept amnesty from Trump. He’s wrong.
Backing down on illegals will cost Trump the election if he does it.
That stuff Rush is up to is not sarcasm. It is backstabbing and he is helping the drive bys get Hillary elected.
He gives them new material each day to hurt Trump.

I remember when I couldn’t imagine not listening to Rush, and when his insight seemed to matter. Now I actually can’t remember the last time I have listened to him.
He has become a shill, and worst of all, bores me.
Two years ago I would have called you a traitor.
Then Trump happened.
Trump has smoked out a thousand guys we thought were for the American people. Now we know that not only are they not behind Americans, they are actually working against us.
No wonder we are in such a pickle.
