Gene Wilder, who regularly stole the show in such comedic gems as “The Producers,” “Blazing Saddles,” “Young Frankenstein,” “Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” and “Stir Crazy,” died Monday at his home in Stamford, Conn. His nephew Jordan Walker-Pearlman said he died of complications from Alzheimer’s disease. He was 83.

He had been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 1989.

Well, it’s better than the photos I saw. Probably clickbait about how shocking she looks.

He looks like he's ready to bust out in a big smile.

Our countenance is all some might see of us.
The only way we might impact their lives.

It will either be for good or bad.

I read a poster in a teachers room.

Everybody brings joy into a room.
Some when they enter.
Others when they leave.

Gene has left this big room...and he's taken some of that joy with him.

“God says life is eternal with joy or terror as potential ends.”
Yes, that point is made repeatedly in the Bible.
“Laughter on the other hand is amusement—the absence of thought.”
The Bible does not say that. You said that, and it is inherently false.
Laughter can be an expression of derision—like me laughing at you, right now, or an expression of joy, delight, wonder—like me laughing at the gentle absurdities Gene Wilder presented in his many wise and silly performances.
Laughter can be done in acceptance or rejection. It is both a function and a portion of free will, and like free will, our ability to laugh is a gift from God.
But laughter is NEVER without thought.
Tell you what I think: an eternity amongst dead souls who hate laughter and think it should be avoided would be hell.
You’re welcome to it.

That depends on where Gilda is at.

With an ignorant and judgemental statement like that, it's unlikely you'll meet her............

First of all, I'm just stating fact.

Second, how is it judgmental?

Lastly, my eternity is secure. Of that I am assured.
Can you say the same?

Ignorant: lacking knowledge, information, or awareness about something in particular.

You are correct. I am ignorant of Gilda or Gene's spiritual condition.

Since you're enlightened, maybe you'd care to share that knowledge with us.

Here is what I found doing a 10 second search

IIRC, most Jews don’t believe in the afterlife. There may be some who differ in this, but I don’t believe it is a traditional teaching.

He also created "Captain Nice" and "Quark." Anyone besides me remember them?

I do remember Quark. It left quite an impression, for being so short-lived. It was a mixture of sci-fi, satire and the Doublemint Twins - I couldn't dislike it if i tried!

Loved him in Blazing Saddles :(

RIP Gene, you made us laugh, even when we didn’t want to.

The arrogance of hypocrites continues to amaze me......You're not "Assured" of anything my friend, only God makes that determination.............He's the final judge, not YOU unless you have a buddy line to Him and what He has in store for you. Which I doubt........LOL!

Exhibit A. He believed in his own “goodness” while God bestowed upon us 67 books, His own presence, the prophets, and thousands of years to show that we cannot be good without repentance and His redemption. If we depend on our own goodness we are surely lost in eternity.

IIRC, most Jews don’t believe in the afterlife.

The Jews have their beliefs, the Christians have their beliefs, the Catholics have their beliefs, the Baptists have their beliefs, the Hindus have their beliefs.....etc, etc........

So which religion is the most righteous of them all and what gives them superiority over all the others?

Blazing Saddles was the epitome of funny!

A film like that today wouldn’t even make it past the script.

Sad how far down we have gone.

You’re right. Anyone who calls that movie “politically INcorrect” (except for a very few isolated moments) has it exactly backwards.

It’s a funny flick and people can enjoy it for that, but it’s nearly 100% left wing and therefore nearly 100% P.C. Sure, they use some words that are verboten these days, big deal.

My God... did he ever age...

We tend to remember people as we last saw them.

God bless him, and carry him home.

Who would photograph the poor man in that condition?
Seems cruel to me.
