[A]lmost half (48%) of all U.S. consumers believe bar soaps are covered in germs after use, a feeling that is particularly strong among consumers aged 18-24 (60%), as opposed to just 31% of older consumers aged 65+.

Beats me...
I looked up prices of “bar soap”...
Then I looked up prices of “body wash”...
The prices I gave were an illustration of what I found...
I did NOT survey every single brand of either...
Just an example....
My dad used Old Spice. He died when I was fine. The smell is still a pleasant memory for me.
True.
hilarious.......
Should have used something gentler.
I use body wash for the simple reason that it is much easier to clean my shower because body wash does not leave soap scum.
I’ve been making and using home made lye soap for the last eight years. I was raised on that stuff.
It is more gentle than Ivory Snow.
IIRC, Ivory had lye in it. That’s why my mother wouldn’t use it to wash out my mouth. Yeh...that’s the old days for ya.
Soap scum is the result of too few showers.
Lever2000 for me.
Can’t stand the body wash stuff
I know somebody’s going to flame me, but I have to agree with them. A wet bar of soap in a soap dish is a bit disgusting compared to liquid hand soap. I also find liquid Dial body wash nicer than their bar soap and, unlike the soap, it fully rinses and doesn’t leave yellow residue on the shower curtain. Also doesn’t leave a nasty gray residue on the tub that’s a devil to scrub off.
My dad got me on Old Spice 55 years ago when I first shaved....Still using it to this day....
Me neither. Body wash is for women IMO. (And Millenials apparently)
Not me, I take 2 showers a day. I don’t have to worry about bar soap residue.
Why do progressives stink?
So blind people can hate them too.
I’ve let my hair grow since I was cut loose from the corporate world. When I shampoo, my hair feels incredibly dry and thin and brittle. I have to put gel in it to keep it from clinging to my face until I produce enough natural oil to coat and protect it. I mostly just rinse now. Hot rinse feels better, probably lifts some of the oil, but doesn’t strip it. Occasionally I break down and shampoo it. It doesn’t look especially oily, even after a month.
No matter how bad the soap looks, you can rub off the first layer on your arms and legs and THEN proceed to use it on the rest of your body. And if you are really paranoid, only use the lather for your face and not from the bar itself.
Anyone remember Jade East? It came in a Buddha shaped bottle until the Buddhists began to throw a fit. Then it came in a round bottle.
I think soft soap is considered to be a hand soap. Body washes come in shampoo shaped containers. Suave has the only one I can ever bear to buy because they’re all 3-5 dollars and more. And you use up the bottles horrifically fast.
