The IRS is still holding up three tea party groups’ applications, Commissioner John Koskinen admitted in a letter to Congress last week — but he insisted he agents are finally about to begin processing them.
Mr. Koskinen is hoping to head off yet another judicial spanking for his agency, which has suffered a string of defeats in federal courts that ruled he is still improperly targeting conservative groups and mistreating them more than three years after the tax agency admitted to its bad behavior.
Not only are three groups still awaiting approval, but the IRS had left open the possibility of kick-starting the use of its targeting, or “be on lookout” (BOLO), lists that the agency used to figure out who it was subjecting to intrusive scrutiny.
Now, Mr. Koskinen is finally moving to shut the operation down for good.
“There should be no doubt that the use of BOLO lists has not just been temporarily suspended, it has been eliminated,” he said in letters to key committees on Capitol Hill.
He also said that the three applications that have been delayed — among them the Albuquerque Tea Party and the Texas Patriots Tea Party — will finally be processed.

Like the NSA and warrantless e-mail searches, Koskinen was accused of targeting conservatives but he denied it.
Then it was shown the IRS (and NSA) was in fact doing what they affirmed they were not doing.
Then they kept doing it. Now he “vows to finally stop.”
Why should we believe anything this lying POS says now?
For that matter, anyone with this administration?

Koskinen lied to Congress, which is a separate felony, in addition to his obstruction of justice and conspiracy to obstruct justice felonies.
I know what Sergeant Donny Donowitz would do with him...
He needs to be in the slam with Lois Lerner and Elijah Cummings.
Every employee of the IRS KNOWS that Lois Lerner committed multiple felonies, because they ALL receive many training sessions annually dealing specifically with the question of who can access confidential taxpayer files.
I know this because as a supervisor in the last Census, I had to do multiple training sessions about who can access confidential respondent information [nobody]. The IRS list has some entities on it, but it's quite short.
ALL the IRS people KNOW, and NONE of them blew the whistle.
They're all guilty of a conspiracy to obstruct justice.
IF the tea party groups do get approved, will they make it retroactive like they did for OBAMA’S STEPBROTHER ?
Nobody ever lost their job or a dime by violating our civil rights.
