Kellyanne Conway: Donald Trump’s Secret Weapon is ‘Uncover Voters’
Trump Conservative ^ | 8/24/2016 | Rufus Shinra

Posted on 08/24/2016 8:28:00 PM PDT by Rufus Shinra

Donald Trump’s new campaign manager Kellyanne Conway said in an interview today that Trump is performing much better in polls than the mainstream media is reporting.

During an interview with UK’s Channel 4, Conway was asked asked about recent poll numbers showing Donald Trump trailing Hillary Clinton in key swing states, as well as nationally. She brought up an interesting point, and one that many Donald Trump supporters have been suggesting for some time, and that is the vast difference between online polling and human interaction polls.

Kellyanne Conway stated that their campaign’s internal polling is confidential, but she did say that polling is very unique to Donald Trump. “Donald Trump performs consistently better in online polling where a human being is not talking to another human being about what he or she may do in elections,” she explained.

She claimed that the difference is in part due to it not being “socially desirable” to admit to a stranger that you’re a Trump supporter, and the “hidden Trump vote” is a very significant factor.

The interviewer admitted that the pollsters got it “spectacularly wrong” when it came to the Brexit results, and asked Conway if she thought something similar to that could happen in the US election.

Conway responded:

Yes, everybody who was looking at this calmly and objectively thinks that … I think if the elites – what I call the wrist-flickers – are just dismissing that – oh Donald Trump can never be president, oh Brexit is so – it’s just for these unwashed rubes, these hillbillies with no teeth and long hair. I mean that’s just unfair.”

Finally, Kellyanne Conway concluded this topic by saying the Trump campaign is performing a project called, “undercover Trump voter”, stating that this phenomenon is real , and if you talk to people around the country you will see it’s real as well.

Although mainstream media pundits and pollsters will likely scoff at this notion, let’s not remember what the owner of the highly praised statistical website Five Thirty Eight, Nate Silver, said about Donald Trump’s chances of winning the primary:

“For this reason alone, Trump has a better chance of cameoing in another “Home Alone” movie with Macaulay Culkin — or playing in the NBA Finals — than winning the Republican nomination.,”

– Nate Silver, July 16th, 2015.

“The lesson … is that Trump’s campaign will fail by one means or another. Like Cain, Bachmann and Gingrich, Buchanan, Huckabee and Forbes came nowhere close to winning the Republican nomination,” Silver wrote. He pegged Trump’s odds of winning the nomination at 2 percent, and laid out the so-called “six stages of doom” for his campaign.

– Nate Silver, Aug 6th, 2015.

Nate Silver certainly wasn’t alone in doubting Trump’s chances of ever becoming the Republican party’s presidential candidate, and every single one was proved wrong.

It’s certainly not too far fetched to peg the current mainstream polls showing enormous Hillary Clinton leads as unreliable, since this election has broken historic records that no one could have predicted.

Donald Trump also has the advantage of the first-time and disenfranchised voters, who would not be included in standard polls because the pollsters typically only reach out to “likely voters.” Likely voters are classified as those who have voted within the past two election cycles.

In fact, back in November of 2015, a 92 year old woman who had never voted in her life, came out to a Trump rally to tell him that she will be casting her first vote for him in the upcoming election.

Millions of American’s who have had no past interest in politics, or felt that no candidate has ever spoken for their concerns, have come out in force to rally behind Donald Trump this year. If enough of them cast their votes on November 8th, the pundits could be proved terribly wrong once again.

The political pundits and pollsters would have to throw out every algorithm they’ve ever constructed for presidential polling if Donald Trump were to win this year, and that wouldn’t be a bad thing at all.

I’ve supported literally everything Trump has done since last July aside from this hire. You are bad at reading minds.

Kellyanne is the most articulate person in politics. She was a brilliant pick and is doing great.

Immigration is the most complicated issue in the country. No matter what you say 90% of the people are going to be pissed.

Pray America wakes

If a 92 year old woman who has never voted in her entire life just registered to vote so she could pull the lever for Trump in November, then there’s plenty of other people out there who could turn this into one of the biggest upsets in election history.>>> I fear some of these people may not know they need to register before they can vote. no one is telling them that.

Good point. Trump has to start bringing that up at his rally’s. There should be forms available and tell people to make sure their friends and family are too.

I know a 72 year old woman who did just that. And that's just within my rather limited circle of friends and aquaintances.

I like Conway because she was a Newt supporter in 2012 and a Cruz supporter this year, as well as being a reliably strong conservative voice in TV appearances over the years. I don’t know how good a pollster she is but she certainly lends Trump’s campaign credibility with long-time conservatives that his other prominent hires have not. Lewandowski, Manafort and Bannon do not give traditional social conservatives who were Cruz’ base any kind of warm fuzzies.

This is all anecdotal, Web Based / New Media Sources...

* The Last "Investment News" poll of Financial Advisers 56% for Trump.
* Over at Conservative Tree House, Iowa Straw Poll at the Fair, 56% for Trump, and 44% for Hilda.
* At Conservative Tree House, "Sundance's" metrics that were spot on in the primaries is predicting 73 Million Votes for DJT, and 53 to 58 Million for Hilda. I did the math of the mean of the Hilda Votes, again Trump 56%
* The "Anonymous Voting App" that came out was reporting 67% for DJT and 19% for Hilda, with California being 55% to 45% again the 55% for DJT...

Now I heard a story today about a college student that told a bud about his Trump leanings and it looks like he has lost a friend.

I'd tell ya about the 60% I heard for DJT the other day, but I can't spill the beans here...

Kellyanne is just going public with what we feel in our gut, Believe people, believe!

Oh ya and this isn't even including "Mike from Quincy" calling in on Jeff Kuhner's Show talking about the apartment complex he works at ( 500 units ) and all the residence telling him they are voting for Trump but won't tell anyone.

Personally, I like the Zip App poll for the way it’s done and it has Trump well ahead.

There is a type of Bradley going on here. It’s also been reported that pollsters hang up and don’t record the vote when a respondent says he will be voting for Trump.

There is no doubt in my mind that the major polls are cooked. The public is also catching on.

Well, I’m not sure. But I’m disappointed that she’s spilling secrets or bragging about closet voters. It should all be about Hillary and the DNC. Not Trumps tactics and strategy.

She’s hired to close the deal and bring some ground game. Manfort was not a ground game type of campaign manager. We all knew that he would be replaced sometime after the campaign and I remember it being mentioned on some talking head that he would last only through the convention.

Trump needs money. She has to find some way to convince people that he has a shot and to open up their wallets despite his poor poll numbers.

"Well, I’m not sure. But I’m disappointed that she’s spilling secrets or bragging about closet voters."

To further make the other side nervous perhaps? Make them trip up while they are nervous?IMHO I see so much "projection" aimed at "us" on social media, I have turned it and the news off, in my gut they know they are going to loose big. This is a demoralizer for them just like the lame-stream polls are for us. It is a metaphorical subtle shiv to their zeitgeist, and frankly I am glad she did it.

I went to a meeting of conservatives lately and it was open mic night and I got up and spoke about how I think DJT is going to win in a landslide. I am glad I did, I think the whole Conservative/Tea Party Movement is like Eor, a giant whoa is me, It is time to stop navel gazing and listening to Don Lemon and speak with passion and a set of balls and proclaim I can't wait to vote for Trump, eschew their PC paradigm.

I saw a post today here on FR a Rush Transcript where he dances around this topic, he has been doing that so much he ought to become a contestant on "Dancing with the Stars", frankly I gave up on him a year ago.

This is where I listen now...

Listen online or via their free phone app..

I can’t see any truth in what you’re saying. You’re getting caught up in the polling game.

I don’t think she has to convince people of anything about Trump, she just has to manage the campaign and get out the ground game for the general election.

Trump has a fair shot at this and I think he’s better than 50-50.

I’m not looking for true believers, but I do expect a certain amount of rational thinking. Alluding to Trump having no chance is not rational thinking. It’s his to lose and Hillary is playing it like it’s his to lose.

"There is no doubt in my mind that the major polls are cooked. The public is also catching on."

I have been saying that pretty much too. Perhaps letting everyone know come in the waters fine is not a bad thing. I also have been saying no traditional methodologies work this cycle DJT is that much of a game changer. Nothing traditional matters this cycle, I said from square one "negatives" wouldn't. I am not sure direct mailers, signs, bumper stickers, calling and maybe even TV will work this cycle and I sort of Beetoch slapped a GOPe insider in a public forum about this and got no response as that thought concept is that far out of the box.

You are right.

I don’t think this election will be won or lost over TV ads. Social media is where the power and reach are. And Trump is a master at it.

Hey Kelley I would be more concerned with real voters not those under the covers, and if you tell Trump to be soft on immigration, you should be put under the covers

...I would be more concerned with real voters not those under the covers...

Reagan won over Carter in the "so-called" landslide of 1980. In fact, Reagan took 50.7%, to Carter's 41%....not exactly a landslide in my books.

The interesting thing is that the voter turnout for that election was 52.6%. Even for then, that is a lot of humanity "under the covers". Roughly half were untapped. This essentially means that a minority of 25% of the country set policy (for the untapped) for four years.

The untapped half is growingly aware that the voting half of the country is basically divided in two, politically, between two dinosaurs. England's Brexit was a cannon-shot over the bows of the dinosaur fleet. The untapped anti-establishment spoke, and spoke big time. It was the anti-elite, anti-IMF, Nigel Farage who reached those voters.

This is why it was so significant that Trump brought Farage to the stage in Jackson, Miss. yesterday. Contrary to media thinking, Trump is the anti-establishment candidate. Trump's great support will come from the untapped, and he will ride their wave of anti-establishment into the WH.

How do you reach the un-tapped half? You let guys like Nigel Farage speak. His speech was short, but cut to the heart of the Trump movement. Watch it several times...it's the key to reaching the untapped.

Trump introduces Farage at time: 1:08:00 into the clip. Don't miss Nigel, a great speaker.

I did watch it,and loved it,all I could think was if Trump could speak anywhere near that good he would win in a land slide.
Of course he can’t.
If he would bring that guy with him everywhere he goes and let him do the opening instead of Rudy, that might save him

One thing that stands out in my mind is Ojoker massive rallies he had the first time he ran for president ...those optics or visually made our camp very unsettling and extremely nervous.Right there and then I knew Ovomit was going to win! The crowds that Trump is pulling in should have the media very very worried! Perhaps they are trying to relieve their antsyiness by slamming Trump 24/7 and fixing the polls etc...that to them is their Prozac ....to calm their nerves!!
