I know, but that was when it was a military project. Now, as a commercial craft they will need to market that ability to customers who are looking for that long duration capability.
From the TV show Archer:
I cant believe you put me on a ship filled with hydrogen!
Archer, its not hydrogen, its helium.
Its just as explosive, Lana! Were all going to die!
No, Archer. Helium is harmless. Were perfectly safe.
Oh, yeah? Tell that to the people on the Hindenburg!
That was hydrogen! This ship has helium. Its safe!
Theyre the same thing, Lana! Its marketing! They changed the name, but Its still the most explosive substance in the universe!
Grrrrrrr
Should be GroundLander.
Doesn’t look like it’s a good Lander:-)
In addition to your observations on the cockpit damage the same picture indicates a significant “pucker” in the forward quadrant of supporting structure for the thruster as well as dark stains (my best guess is hydraulic fluid) from the rear of the thruster to the lower edge of the airship structure.
JMHO, the pilot got nose down and tried to correct, had a hydraulic problem that locked the thruster position, went to max power to cure THAT, simultaneously ran out of altitude and bright ideas and crunched the bird.
I’m fully aware that most crashes are due to Pilot Error, but this one looks to me like the guy made the best he could out of a really crappy situation.
I do believe I’d fly with him.
Thanks for the pix earlier postings did not(yours revealed its double hulled) didn’t have them. Reports are the craft hit high tension transmission line.
