Where will they find someone qualified to give the pilot a 709 ride?

Given its size, methinks it will always be overly susceptable to air currents whilst taking off or landing.

The British batting average with hulled airships is almost as bad as the American record. If you want a decent airship, buy German.

The forward fans were not being used for lift? That thing needs more horsepower / control.

According to the article the cockpit may have been damaged. LOL.... its only a scratch! Looks to be crushed, breached, and nearly fatal if you were standing in the wrong spot!

Doesn’t seem to have much of a payload compared with commercial air freighters. The main advantage seems to be long flight duration.

It is not “part plane”.

It is wholly a rigid airship.

It pains me to have to read the article to clarify. I am a FReeper.

“Doesn’t seem to have much of a payload compared with commercial air freighters. “

It’s not designed for freight. It was designed for surveillance.
