Unless she was pulling a Sandy Burger. If she had the documents in her car (trunk, pocket, seat, whatever), where was she taking the documents? She doesn’t say that she was going to burn them.
One could safely say that the documents wound up in terrorist hands.
Not always jail time. My friend was a long term intel analyst with the DIA. On being transferred from DC to MacDill because his expertise was the Stans he inadvertantly packed two confidential memos in his office paperwork. On arriving and unpacking at MacDill he saw the memos, called his superior and turned the docs over. He was suspended indefinitely andbecame the subject of a full investigation. It was six months before he redeived his security clearances back.
