I smelled a rat regarding this incident and knew better than to offer an uninformed opinion.

Brazil is a hellhole because the family unit there is even more broken than here in the US ... AND ... the dominant church is Catholic. [US Catholic clergy have to compete with Protestants, so they aren’t given a chance to become a corrupt orthodoxy.]

Of COURSE Brazil is corrupt. I’ve heard stories about Brazil — one evil place.

And the idea of them holding moral authority over a US Olympic champion seemed really ‘off’. The world was his oyster. He was there to secure the dividends of his hard training and discipline. So I was not about to pile on the kid without serious deliberation.
