Target Stock Plummets as Bathroom Boycott Surges
Townhall.com ^ | August 22, 2016 | Todd Starnes

There are two indisputable facts surrounding Target’s decision to allow men to use the same bathrooms and changing rooms as women and little girls.

First, Target’s stock has taken pounding since April. Second quarter earnings fell to $680 million, according to Market Watch. And revenue fell 7.2 percent.

Second, more than 1.4 million consumers have joined American Family Association’s nationwide boycott of the nation’s second-largest discount retailer.

The debate is whether there is a correlation between those two facts.

Target CEO Brian Cornwell told Fortune magazine in May that the transgender bathroom policy has nothing to do with their financial wellbeing.

“To date we have not seen a material or measurable impact on our business,” he said. “Just a handful of stores across the country have seen some activity and have been impacted.”

But American Family Association believes their boycott is having a significant impact on Target’s bottom line.

I agree, they should apologize or at least say they’re rescinding the policy. What good is building new bathrooms if the perverts can still go where they want?

Oh wait, they want us to use the private bathroom, right? I hope they go under and they used to be my favorite store.

And Christmas is in just a few months.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't exactly remember them as being ardent supporters of the Christmas experience. More along the lines of the Happy Holidays Kumbaya.

Our whole family, including 3 married children, have not gone to Target since this immoral policy. Target execs are now liars -- like all liberals and Dems -- for saving this is not why their sales, profits, and stock price have nosedived. And it will continue to get worse come Christmas season.

Someone I know who knows a Target manager, was told about Target management's aggressive support of this policy. He said the store is practically empty.

I was at Costco over the weekend and they have separate men’s/women’s rooms. Why boycott. I know the Chmn and CEO are big libs, but what alternative would you suggest? Same is now true of WalMart now that old man Walton is gone. His heirs are lefties.

One day I’m going to go to Walmart and buy a bunch of stuff. Then I’m going to take the receipt to Target and ask to speak with the manager. I’m going to show him the receipt...

Please know that Walmart is every bit as bad as Target, if not worse. Walmart routinely funds homosexual organizations which want to abolish marriage, and marches "proudly" in homosexual "pride parades."

According to 2nd Vote:

Walmart is a corporate supporter of the liberal think tank, the Center for American Progress, which applauded the Supreme Court decision overturning bans on same-sex marriage. Walmart received a score of 90 on the Human Rights Campaign's (HRC's) Corporate Equality Index (CEI), which includes advocacy for same-sex marriage. Walmart contributes to the YWCA and the Urban League, both of which support same-sex marriage.

"be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves."

Target already knows all that.

They don’t care.

Looks like the transgendered demographic was not anywhere near as big as Target execs thought it was.

It was lucky for me that Target stopped carrying my Bubble Yum sugarless bubble gum. Now I have no reason to go back there.

I just came back from our Target, that has been at the same location, for around 15 years. I very seldom go there because it is kind of out of my way. But out of curiosity I wanted to check the bathroom situation out, plus I was looking for something that I needed.

You have to consider it all depends on the management of the store and the location. To make a long story short the rest rooms were one for male and handicapped and the other one for female and handicapped. None was for those that don't know what gender they are.

Besides Clarksville TN wouldn't go along with BS like this

What? Many don't know that Sam's Club is part of Walmart? I can't believe that, they must be really ignorant. Everyone knows that. Besides, why should I drive 20 miles or more out of my way just to shop at Sam's club, when I can get the same deal at our Walmart that is less than 2 miles from my house?

On the other hand I had no idea that Costco is part of Target, but what do I care, since we don't have a Costco here. Although I think there used to be one here many years ago and in our old Mall and where Sears used to be. I remember liking shopping at Costco because you used to get good deals and the membership was reasonable.

Well you can watch the Clinton News Network (CNN) or the All Barack Channel (ABC), or the Clinton Broadcasting System (CBS) for all I care. I stick with FOX News the only news cable channel that can truthfully claim that they are Fair and Balanced.

Apparently I was in error about Costco being part of Target. But yes there are people who do not know that Sam's Club is part of Walmart.

“Remember to include Costco in your boycott. “

Incorrect. They are not connected; why would you say they are?
