My sense has been that this has been the anything you can do I can do better Olympics with the over coverage of women’s events.

Besides, eventually the transgenders will take over women’s sports and make it meaningless.

I felt the same way in that most TV coverage seemed to be female diving, rowing, Volleyball etc.
In fairness they did show a bit of discus throwing male rowing. However it was mainly female.

These games have been unwatchable.
Womans wrestling?
Womans weightlifting?
Really?
Last Sunday 90% of the coverage was womans sports.
Unwatchable.

I'm a volleyball fanatic and while I enjoy watching the men's teams, the women are easier to watch in terms of positioning on both offense and defense.

They lack the hitting power of the men and thus it's easier to follow the ball. In terms of the sport's mechanics, they're both the same.

The same thing applied when racquetball was an exhibition sport. You couldn't see the ball when the men played but with the women you could.

The dirty little secret is that Olympic TV coverage is aimed at a female audience. With the exception of some prominent sports like men's basketball, most male sports fans have no interest in the Olympics.

As we're finding out with all the drama surrounding the incident with the men's swim team members and the Brazilian police, American men often pay much more attention to these side stories than the actual competitive events.
