Twenty-four GOP-held seats are on the ballot this year, compared with 10 for Democrats, he noted. McConnell was promoted to majority leader two years ago when a Republican surge wrested Senate control from Democrats.

McConnell did not mention Trump as being a drag on Republican down-ballot races, but he chided Trump’s campaign tactics. The Kentucky senator said he hopes Trump “settles down and follows the script.” …

No things are dicey because of simple math. The GOP has 24 of the 36 Senate seats up for election in in 2016. The Dims only need to win 4 for a tie and 5 to take control of the Senate. Something like 8 of those seats are up in states that went for Obama both times. Keeping control in any year would be dicey but it sure as hell doesn’t help that many of those supporting Trump don't support the GOP’s efforts to maintain control

It makes absolutely no sense to me that so many people here continuously trash the very folks Trump will need to get anything done. Pure insanity.
