Malia Obama has been accused of smoking marijuana after a video of her puffing on a suspicious cigarette was released. The president's eldest daughter was seen inhaling from the cigarette during the Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago. The brief clip, published by Radar on Wednesday, shows the 18-year-old mingling with crowds as she takes a drag. An eyewitness insisted she was smoking marijuana.

The libs will screech it’s legal. Lalapaloosa was the same weekend that the Illinois governor signed the legalization bill so she was making point tokin’ in public. Thing is, this can’t have been her first time so how long has she been smoking and where is she getting her stash? This could be one of several reasons she and daddy are so very chummy. Something caused the constant eye rolls and surly face suddenly turning into glowing adoration of daddy choom.

When she was visiting colleges with Moo, she was caught drinking alcohol. Moo was never questioned about that. Before that was the t-shirt thing with the “kill cops and whitey” rappers.

There’s a lot more to her taking a year off from college than is being told. The dems can’t have her misbehaving before the election and daddy can’t have her embarrassing him before he’s out of office. Stock up on popcorn for when she’s let out on her own.

In that respect she’s like a lot of teenaged girls, viz. she wants privacy to do the things she wants to do. And the things she likely wants to do, she doesn’t want govt witnesses.

If this actually happened,I think the SS would be in kind of a bind. They are there to protect them, not be their ‘parents’.

Milk came from my nose
Which is odd considering
I'm not drinking milk

My daughter is 4 weeks old tomorrow. That means I have not slept in 27 days. Coffee is like gold to me.

She's intentionally embarrassing her dad.

She might just turn out alright, then.

IMHO her age is not the issue, Miss Obama is not a public figure, nor has she yet (to my knowledge) taken any steps to make herself one.

People take an interest in her solely because her father is the President. She and her sister should be left alone until and unless each actively enters public life.

I still hold out hope that one day one of them will turn out to be a Conservative.

One can dream.

It would be nice (and unlikely) for her to meet fall for a nice conservative, Christian man who loves, cares and supports her while being everything her father opposes, not some liberal, hypocritical, and possibly crooked Wall Street type like the former Miss Clinton married.

Obama, for all his faults and flaws seems to genuinely love his family. (Of course he is destroying the society in which they will have to live.) The internal conflict would drive him nuts.

From the New York Times (!) October 24, 2006 :

PHOENIX, Arizona — Senator Barack Obama, the Illinois Democrat who said Sunday that he was considering running for president in 2008, has created a little sunlight between himself and both Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton.

For one thing, he said, “When I was a kid, I inhaled.”

“That was the point,” Obama told an audience of magazine editors.

The direct admission was in contrast to Bill Clinton’s denial in his 1992 campaign for president that he had smoked marijuana.

“I didn’t inhale,” Clinton said, cementing the idea that he liked to have things both ways.

Obama had written in his first book, “Dreams From My Father” (1995), before entering politics, that he had used marijuana and cocaine (”maybe a little blow”). He said he had not tried heroin because he did not like the pusher who was trying to sell it to him.”

I have the same concern in this none-of-our-business incident as I did with the Bush twins and their drinking escapades

My very liberal niece emailed me that Bush couldn't run the country since he couldn't control his daughters--citing those pics

I emailed her back and asked if she was going to vote for NADER since if that was her criteria that would be her only choice

She asked me why
I emailed her that since Gore's boy was thrown out of St Albans prep for smoking and selling pot in the lunch room and that Tipper also had to leave the convention to bail him out of jail in NC where he was arrested for reckless driving she would have no other choice

No return email received

So they don’t get to grow up and make mistakes? BS. They didn’t sign up for this.

:-). I remember the early days. I have news for you: the teenage years bring even more sleep deprivation. We have six kids from age 16 to 3. Teenagers stay up very late. They work late. They get home late. They like to talk late. They hear what you are doing in your bedroom late (another part of married life that gets surprisingly harder with older kids).

I thought I was getting sick on Monday. I was getting more and more tired as the day went on, it’s my day off so I need to accomplish many things. I gave up and walked to the park with younger kids. While there I almost fell asleep on a picnic table. Got home and realized I had inadvertently bought DECAFFINATED tea the day before!! You are right-caffeine gets us through the day, every day.

Some days I can barely form a sentence, let alone a haiku. Of course, even on my best days I probably couldn’t write a haiku anyway.

I hear you. For over 29 years, I’ve slept on my right side, to leave my good ear uncovered. My body trained itself to wake me whenever I roll on to my left side.
