Watch: Obama Can’t Say If The $400 Million We Sent To Iran Will Be Used For Terrorism
Townhall.com ^ | August 8, 2016 | Matt Vespa

Last week, President Obama was asked whether the $400 million cash payment to Iran that occurred just as they released four detained Americans was a ransom. He was also asked if he could assure us that the money was not going to be used for terrorism. Spoiler alert: we got no assurances. Instead, we got a lecture. The president noted how this payment was not secret, as it was earmarked in previous appropriations bills; it was not some nefarious deal since White House lawyers advised the Obama White House to settle the decades-old grievance regarding these frozen assets; and that the timing of the release dates back to the negotiations with Iran over their nuclear program.

Yep, the president pretty much said that it’s great that we had an official dialogue with Iran for the first time since the 1979 revolution, though they still fund terror, Hezbollah, and prop up Syria. So, I’m not so sure why this is a good thing. Obama added that the Iran nuclear deal was working, and that the unfrozen assets have not been used for terrorist activities. Well, in the first months since the deal was agreed upon, Iran had access to $3 billion of that money; we don’t know if it was used for terrorism. Secretary of State John Kerry admitted that some sanctions relief was going to be used for terrorism. Even National Security Director wasn’t naïve enough to say that Iran would be well behaved once we gave up funds. She said that portions of it would probably be used to finance terrorist activity as well.

This is all hopelessly doomed to fail—and the evidence is clear, despite the president’s assurance that all is well. Iran’s uranium stockpile has grown; the State Department noted that Iran actually didn’t sign the deal (and that it's not legally binding); and the country has been caught cheating on the parameters of the agreements as well. I know, shocking, right?

Still, the president gave no assurances that this cash payment would be used to fund terrorist activities, dancing around the issue instead by offering confidence that his signature foreign policy achievement would succeed. In reality, it was just a way for him to buy time, as Obama didn’t want to have to order airstrikes. It’s another hot potato that will be dropped in the lap of the next guy or gal.

We are paying for them to build atomic weapons to destroy Israel and the U.S.

We created ISIS as well and funded OBL and AQ.

You’d think we’d learn not to give Muzzies money...

Why else would the payment be made in foreign paper currency, in secret, unless it was to provide an untraceable source of funds to use for terrorism.

Damn, he looks all choomed up in that video.

I thought he was going to get lost in the fascinating ceiling tiles there a couple of times.

Of course the money is going to be spent on terrorism. That's why he sent it in different currencies.

My question to all of this is this:

Was there a vote in the House of Representatives on this money? I didn't hear of one, did you? RINO RYAN has the Treasury department, no money can be paid until there is a vote on the floor to allow it...was this a ‘back room’ deal? Who was all involved in this? Shouldn't this money be investigated?

Iran is still on the Terror List, that's why Barky had to do the transfer the way he did, so Barky just committed TREASON....who is going to prosecute him for this? No one, because everyone in the House and Senate and beyond are all being blackmailed, just like it was found out yesterday about the ‘Toyoko Rose’ tape on Juan Clam....

So are we going to sit by and let this ride? Or are we going to ‘social media’ and raise some hell about it? Make the questions come out about it....come one folks, you want a better country, you want a leader, so it's up to us to clear that path, so don't sit back on your loyals and let someone one else do it, start finding out and putting the facts out there!!!

Money as cash is the most fungible commodity in the world. It matters not whether it is these particular banknotes that are used to fund terrorism, or if other interchangeable banknotes are the actual instruments, the terrorism shall be well supported.

The Iranians are already in that mindset, to fund the terrorism first, before any other social or financial functions. Priorities, you know.

Anybody who saw "Hillary's America" knows this technique is right out of Saul Alinksy's playbook.

Never give up the lie. Deflect, distract and continue the con.

Obama added that the Iran nuclear deal was working,

Yeah, ‘short term’, media never ask about long-term...

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1608/04/sitroom.01.html

“If some of these folks who had said the sky is falling suddenly said, “You know what? We were wrong, and we are glad that Iran no longer has the capacity to break out in short-term and develop a nuclear weapon.”

"Can't"? Horsefeathers. 0bama won't say it, because he knows it will be used for terrorism. Possibly, for nuclear terrorism.

Obama added that the Iran nuclear deal was working, and that the unfrozen assets have not been used for terrorist activities.

First of all, there is no "deal," because in order for a "deal" to be enforceable under law, there has to be an exchange of value ("consideration") between the parties.

As far as I know, Iran has given us nothing in return for the lifting of sanctions and the release of funds. So let's at least stop calling it a "deal."

Second, I'm sure that Obama must be right about Iran not using the funds to fund terrorism, because if they were, it would show up in the financial statements that Iran provides us, which are audited by reputable accounting firms like Deloitte or PwC. Oh wait, they're not providing us with any audited financials. Nevermind.

It's sort of like a revision of the Reagan policy: "Trust, but . . . whatever."

Did iranians take money from the bundles sent to it by bammy and give that money to terrorists? ludicrous question.

Obviously, they didn’t use THOSE bills for terrorism, but they used OTHER money.

Bammy knew very well that iranians fund terrorism. Sending them money financed terrorism. I feel good now, knowing that the president that my neighbors elected gave money to the people who are trying to kill us.
