Trump pollster: 'There's a big hidden Trump vote'
Washington Examiner ^ | 8/7/16 | Paul Bedard

They're not exactly the Nixon era "silent majority," but both Republican and Democratic pollsters claim that there is a secret vote for Donald Trump showing up in some polls.

The Trump campaign on Sunday stated flatly there is a "big hidden Trump vote" in the nation.

And during the recent Democratic convention, a top pollster agreed, saying there is a "secret Trump vote."

Longtime Republican pollster and Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway explained on the Today show that the hidden vote is seen when anonymous online polls are compared to phone call interview polls where people have to be more public in stating who they support.

For example, the new Reuters poll had Trump and Hillary Clinton just three points apart, where others that are phone survey based out Sunday showed a greater gap.

"The Reuters poll, which is an online poll, where Donald Trump is three points behind Hillary Clinton nationally, and I think that the important point to note there is that when you have online polls as opposed to telephone polls, Mr. Trump tends to do better, and that's because the online polls approximate the ballot box, where you're issuing your vote privately," she said.

"We think there's a big hidden Trump vote in this country," said Conway, who added that Trump internal polls project "tighter" results in battleground states.

I don’t think either FL or NV are anywhere close to “in play.” The recent registration numbers out of FL alone suggest it’s already Trump’s.

The “good Christians” ( no matter what church they're affiliated with or whether they claim no church other than their self ) in this country have routinely convinced themselves and their friends to sit out elections.

They have more in common with Pontius Pilate washing his hands and permitting evil to be done than with Christ.

I hope so! I spent 2 elections thinking the polls about Obama could NOT be right.

I think you’re off a lot. Only half the American voting age public votes in any given election. Now, how many of those are registered? Likely half, or about 60 million.

Put it on a magnetic sheet and you can pull it off when you park. Works like a charm in enemy territory.

I’m going to be surprised if it’s even close.

I am so happy I live in my county St Johns where I have not seen a Clinton sticker or sign, or even know anyone who is voting for her, unlike everyone voting for Trump.

Well we know what happens with “health problems” and Politburos.

Yes, the dems could announce that she has a “cold” and a few days later announce she’s dead.

Yep. People who will vote for Trump just aren’t telling anyone about it to avoid the grief they’ll get from friends, relatives, co-workers and the like. Then, come Election Day, they’re going to stand up and be counted. Then the MSM (and especially Hillary) is gonna get a BIG surprise!

Trump's team will have to find a way between the rigged voting machines on one side saying Hillary Clinton won, and the rigged polls/media saying the overwhelming support shown for her confirmed the results of the rigged voting machines.

He has good minds on his side and I am sure he is going to come up with a way to overcome these two things.

here in NE FL I have seen not even more than 5 Hillary signs all year, but every day it is Trump. No one cares for her here.

Yup. And she is picking and choosing who gets to interview her..per last presser.

That, and Trump going from one area to another for two a day rallies are gonna kill her.

I view this trend with some dismay.

At least one prominent Baptist theologian, Wayne Grudem, has come out forcefully in criticism of the “purity vote.”

The key (as I would put it — Dr. Grudem might not) is to see it to be, not even about themselves personally or the person receiving the vote, but about country and (even more) God. Offer God the largest door within your power, and then allow Him to act. If the door needs to be moved open further, less trouble is entailed than if you had bequeathed Him the smallest door by defaulting.

I use Bradley effect only because it is the most well known. In reality, the Trump effect is much larger than Bradley effect because it is nationwide instead of only Los Angeles. It will be talked about for decades to follow.

Note that not a single pundit said Trump was expected to win the GOP primaries with more votes than Ronald Reagan or the Bushes received in primaries. And those 3 had far fewer candidates to run against than the 16 candidates in 2016, which were constantly called the best republican field in a lifetime.

Yep...I usually put political signs in my yard...this year I’m hesitant.

I have a Gadsden flag inside a window. Mine says DONT TREAD ON ME but an updated version would say BITE ME.

Mention of “Bradley Effect” makes me worried. That’s all I heard about in 2008 and 2012!

” Trump does three to nine points better than in telephone surveys. So it really does suggest that there is a secret vote for Donald Trump,” said Lake.”

I think the secret vote may be higher than three to nine percent. more like six to fifteen but that’s just what I see and I live near a military base”

i pray this is the case, but my take is that conservatives are more likely to be completing online polls than are liberal progressives. why should Hillary supporters be completing online polling when the MSM already has Hillary’s backside covered.
