LEXINGTON, KY - A report of a car full of men in body armor with semi-automatic weapons brought Lexington police to the Walmart on Richmond Road on Saturday night. Officers found two men, one in body armor, a 20-year-old woman and a six-month old baby.
Lt. Jackie Newman said that when Lexington police officers got the three people out of the car about 11:15 p.m., they said they were preparing for doomsday and needed supplies. A 26-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were in the car with their 6-month-old baby and a 19-year-old man, police spokeswoman Brenna Angel said Monday.
The older man had just bought a bulletproof vest, a semi-automatic AK-47 and a .357 Magnum revolver, Angel said. He was wearing the vest, and both weapons were loaded and visible in the vehicle. He told officers that they had recently received a settlement from a car crash and used the money to buy tactical gear should the end of days occur or should there be an Armageddon-type situation

What a bunch of amateurs! Everyone knows to either head to Sams Club or Costco because there is ALOT more food...either that, or pretend to be a Mormon in a Mormon neighborhood :)
And? Did they break any laws? Did they rob the place? Not pay for what they got? Are loaded openly-viewable weapons in a vehicle in Kentucky illegal?
Needs, money, store, purchase......seems to be inherently criminal on the face of it.
Scratch the surface and I bet you’ll find actors from a theater troop on a local college campi cooking-up a scam to try and smear Trump.
No. They didn’t break any laws.
And what law exactly was broken?
IIRC, body armor is perfectly legal, and open carry is permitted in Kentucky. Have we come to this? that an American citizen cannot ride around in his own private vehicle wearing body armor? Or is this just police harassment for “Driving While Prepped”? :)
My point exactly. So what. They looked odd possibly....but who in the hell at Walmart looks ‘normal’ at 11:15 PM?
Too hot to be wearing body armor
What a bunch of maroons
Hey, there's a business opportunity... Sell motorcycle-like body armor to the smart-car and small lightweight electric car market. You know those vehicles and airbags can only protect you just so much. Urban driving speeds probably aren't high enough to make it an issue. But for suburban drivers and commuters - a little extra protection???
You can get body armor in “newborn” size?
I wouldn’t want to change THOSE diapers.
Preparing to ENDURE it or INFLICT it????
hahaha I used to live in an apartment directly across from that wal-mart. That wal-mart doesn’t even have any food.
Doesn’t sound like that broke any laws to me. lol
People forget body armor does not protect head, neck, legs, and other vulnerable areas that can cause death.
All our LEO wear body armor even in the 105 heat index in Memphis, TN and surrounding counties. Stupid not to.
Hey, froggie!
I suspect that the PD received a 911 call and they ^had^ to investigate. Just like when LEO arrives for a “didn’t make my cheeseburger right” call.
Shame that the target didn’t understand his rights and gave up his 4AMD and 5AMD when he exited his vehicle.
Maybe they were planning to stock up on some ammo or other “tactical stuff”.
Probably...I never liked this Walmart. It’s trashy (like a lot of walmarts) but NO FOOD makes it not worth going to.
I’d like some, and consider it might also be a useful safety equipment for stressing post tension tendons and retaining wall tie backs...
sounds like the people that go to either Walmart after 8 pm in my town. I usually sit in the car while my wife goes in. Castle doctrine applies, eyes open, pick her up at the door.
What laws did they break?
