After years of shying away from the fight, Democrats believe public opinion has shifted enough for them to make gun control an issue worth fighting for in November, according to a story in The New York Times. With the spate of mass shootings around the country and polls that reflect support for restrictions, Democrats appear to be emboldened to make gun control a linchpin issue without fear of reprisal.

You said it, FRiend!
No confiscation without registration. And a bill to create a national gun registry will never pass. Even if it did, mass noncompliance would be total.
The Second Amendment will never be repealed.
And if a future regime announces, “WE are the masters now! Turn in your guns!” then it’s Katy bar the door.
They’re about 100 million firearms too late. Woe unto them who would try to deny us our God-given rights.
That is just what has been bought on the books since 9-11. Really think that one through. It is not possible to confiscate the guns nor is it possible to get Americans to give up that right.
So are a whole lot of dead people.
“The Democrats are believing their own lying polls!”
I think that is the case. They live in a bubble and engage in a heavy “group think”.
They have convinced themselves that this is a winning issue, based on push polls, cooked votes in legislatures that had to be done in the middle of the night under *emergency* rules, and referendum where Second Amendment supporters were outspent 20 to one.
They have convinced themselves that this is a winning issue, when the big trend is for support for gun ownership topped over 50% for the first time in 50 years, this year.
When Americans are on edge because of terror attacks, and rampage shootings have been hyped to the max by the media.
They are interpreting reality 180 degrees out of sync. It could not happen to a more deserving group.
About 400 million (that “they” know about):

Interesting that the Dems can’t find 30 million people - people who cash checks (with ID, there’s no other way), go to doctors, hospitals and clinics (with ID, there’s no other way), etc., etc. - but they think that they can find 400 million guns that can be buried, broken into multiple pieces, hidden in very small spaces, can languish for decades in the same place and return to 100% function in a matter of minutes. Try those things with a person.
Bottom line, they will never be able to do it, and the more time that goes by, the lesser the likelihood that they ever could be successful. We’re talking about something like 70,000 guns being sold PER DAY. Good luck with that, Hillary!
“Good idea. Shout it from the rooftops that you want to take guns away from the people.”
Yeah, let them do that. Later, they won’t be the only ones on rooftops. :>)
Gun control is a Rat killer.
5.56mm
LMAO, the ComDems are in for a big surprise on that one.
When Trump wins, gun sales will probably level off. If (God forbid) Hillary wins, sales will zoom ever upward.
That’s the Hoplaphobes logic.
Woof!
They must have rigged the elections enough that a pro-gun pushback won’t effect them.
RE “...gun sales will probably level off...”
Hell no, hope not. Just keep buying and stocking up.
The sad fact is, we have to keep the Dems AND the RINOs out of power for the rest of our lives.
And that isn’t going to happen, realistically.
If Trump wins, we have four, hopefully eight, years to stall, block, impede, stonewall, and otherwise interdict their agenda by any and all means necessary.
And if another Dem gets i - or one of the RINOs pet cuckolds - we’ll be in a stronger position to tell them to Go eff themselves...Or the alternative will happen.
We cannot EVER afford to be complacent. This is a battle in a war, not the end of the war.
And if Cankles gets in, well, you know the rest.
