After years of shying away from the fight, Democrats believe public opinion has shifted enough for them to make gun control an issue worth fighting for in November, according to a story in The New York Times. With the spate of mass shootings around the country and polls that reflect support for restrictions, Democrats appear to be emboldened to make gun control a linchpin issue without fear of reprisal.

Shying away? Oh, that's a joke right? No, they're just pushing their assault on the bill of rights harder than they used to. There's gonna be a boost alright. The ever bleating hildabama may surpass the lyin' king for sales ass-occiate of the year.

Gun sales are through the the roof and these assholes think they should push their anti-gun agenda for votes? Morons.

They always in that trap and get burned... every time.

Democrats apparently can’t seem to grasp the simple truth... don’t tread on me in America.

They set themselves up... for failure again.

Gun control...it worked so well for guy named Tom Bradley.

He was leading in all the polls in CA up to Election Day - when he lost.

Its a familiar meme.

“Confiscate 300 million firearms? “

I have been seeing that figure for more than 20 years, and I thought it was low when I first saw it. I believe the true number is more than 3 times that.

America, what a country!

James O’Keeffe just caught one of hitlary’s people telling how hitlary is going to go after guns and said she will pull a bait and switch tactic.

Good idea. Shout it from the rooftops that you want to take guns away from the people.

Bullshit. That is what they said after SH.

The 2A is a civil right no different than freedom of speech. They can tell me what kind of guns I can buy when they pass a law telling me what words I can say.

And screw anyone with a defeatist attitude!

God must love fools and Democrats, because he made so many of them.

Washington state, long known for extreme liberalism, was once fairly well balanced between liberals and conservatives. Plus, the there were a lot of “big L” Liberals, and a lot of populist ideals that led to pragmatic treatment of guns.

Not so much of late. Big city liberals have poured into the state, skewing the balance. In the 1990’s, the voters squashed an anti-gun initiative. Last year, they passed the Universal Background Check initiative I-594, with Bloomberg’s massive financing. This year, emboldened Cease Fire WA is pushing more bills, including an “assault weapon” ban.

I hope the national effort is an overreach by Democrats, but Lincoln’s “you can fool some of the people all of the time” is official Democrat Party policy now.

all restricting sales does is drive up prices

there are some 400 million firearms in USA (not counting all those off the books, which may exceed those on the books?)

shutting down legal retail stores will put more honest people out of work, but won’t in any way stop sales (which are skyrocketing and will go up even faster if there’s any serious attempt at prohibition)

study history, D’s. study history. (or are you all heavily invested in munitions companies?)

Obama was smart not to mess around with an anti-gun message.

The Democrats are believing their own lying polls!
