The take-home message of this story is to show, yet again, that the GOP establishment has a much stronger affinity for the Democratic establishment than for the grassroots and base of its own party. You'd think they'd at least make a token show of appreciation for the people they've conned for money and votes all these years, but that's evidently asking too much.
