Normandy Attack, A Note From Michael P. Ramirez
Michael P. Ramirez, editorials and cartoons ^ | 07-26-16 | Michael P. Ramirez

By Michael P. Ramirez July 26, 2016 Once again, the vile and wretched refuse of mankind have attacked the innocent. Our prayers go out for the families of Father Jacques Hamel, and the nun who is fighting for her life. We pray Our prayers go out for the people of France and for people everywhere who have fallen victim to these heinous acts of terror.

The terrorists who continue to commit these brutal acts, attacking an 84 year old priest and a nun, demonstrate what they truly are, cowards, who prey on the weak, helpless and defenseless. As I have written before, these tragedies expose "those who subvert religion to justify brutal acts of barbarity. Only when the world can see these animals for what they truly are will the world unite against these emissaries of death and destruction."

But before you can go after evil, you must define it. It goes by many names; ISIS, ISIL, lone wolf, DAESH... but they all share one thing in common, the celebration of death in the name of radical Islam.

We pray for those who have been touched by terror.

We pray for governments, obliged to protect their citizens, to have the knowledge, determination, and the courage and fortitude to intercept these murderers and prevent acts of terror, but most importantly, we pray that they have the will to eliminate this cancer before it spreads further.

It will take more than a loving embrace to do this or a continued allegiance to artificial boundaries of hypersensitivity. It will take the resolve of people.

This is taken from the website of two-time Pulitzer prize winning editorial cartoonist Michael P. Ramirez. Most of the website has his magnificent cartoons, but he also writes wonderful editorials.

Voice of sanity and common sense. It is illogical to embrace homicidal maniacs.

It angers me that the Pope defends bringing more Muslims into Europe.

The problems with Islamic fundamentalism are found in the fundamentals of Islam.

Once you acknowledge that the so-called ‘radical Islamists’ are merely devout Islamists then you’ll see that it’s actually the moderates who are radical because they are NOT devout.

The enemy is not just the Islamic killers, the enemy is Islam.

Keep them out, then they can’t hurt us. Allowing muslims into our countries have empowered the bloodthirsty to attack us.

Ramirez — I think he supports “illegal immigration.”

Hence, anti-Trump. He is relentless against Trump.

Part of the problem is that governments keep people from carrying out armed self defense — we aren’t talking about counter jihads here, and certain posts such as priests and nuns may call for the people themselves to be pacifists — but the installations where they live ought to be able to be privately guarded. And ought to seriously consider such guards, or letting others volunteer.

Allah Akhbarbarians are often cowardly, but without even a minimal thing to fear, they get to work depredations without push back.

Also, they should be deported where they were imported.

People who actually want to try to evangelize them shouldn’t be prevented, though they should be forewarned that a martyrdom is very likely in their future.

I’ve heard Michael say that he appreciates and likes what Donald Trump says, but he’s not sure of what Trump will do. As an editorial cartoonist, he pretty much picks on everyone’s faults. Usually, we elect leaders with a record of making good decisions while in elected office, and I know he’s mentioned that it’s unusual to pick a leader with no track record, not even being a Mayor.
I happen to be voting for Trump even though Cruz was my first choice. I, like Michael, cannot make any predictions on whether Trump will be a good President or not. I pray he is a great President, because our country depends on it.
If he turns out to tend toward bad decisions, then we must find a way to make him do the right thing.

A general global lack of pushback has given space to the jihadist movement to be emboldened, as it is a spiritually driven menace. If jihadism more typically came to ignominy, there would be much less space for it.

May the good Lord provide a wise balance here. We shouldn’t be about wiping out peoples even if jihadists are, but we should be about stopping peoples bent on jihadism.

"It will take more than a loving embrace to do this or a continued allegiance to artificial boundaries of hypersensitivity."

Yes, the feigned hypersensitivity so popular in government, corporate and academic policies has lent much to allowing medieval murderers to get into positions for committing and supporting terrorist attacks.

It’s a big problem, this “we dare not insult Muslims by pointing out certain Muslim practices as culpable in incidents of wicked crimes.” There’s no reason to do it. If the Muslim community won’t eschew these practices, then it is going to get publicly shamed for it... tough on it, it earned it.

There are nominal Islams practiced in the world, which don’t go for the killing. In a day when vigorous pushback for jihadism was likely, this was more typically the case. But now that it is treated with even rhetorical kid gloves, we have a modern problem with jihadism.

Well said.
It is fundamental Islam as practiced by Muhammad and the 4 Caliphs immediately following Muhammad that is the problem.

These Muslims are not radical or extremists, they are Muslim fundamentalists who do what Allah and Muhammad want done to us Kafirs.

It is the basic religion of Islam that is the problem.
Calling it something else only avoids facing the facts about Islam. -Tom
