The owner of an Italian restaurant in New Mexico says he’s seen a surge in business after posting a billboard that featured a food-centric pun playing off the Black Lives Matter slogan.
Rick Camuglia, owner of Paisano’s in Albuquerque, posted what he thought would be a well-received joke on the marquee sign in front of his restaurant last week. It read:
"BLACK OLIVES MATTER — TRY OUR TAPENADE."

“Our intention was never to offend or hurt anybody,” he says, “But all of this just says a lot about the state of our society when you can’t even make a simple statement about a fruit without people attacking you. People may need to recalibrate their politically correct meter.”

If I owned a Mexican restaurant a "black beans matter" sign would already be up.
Hilarious! I hope Paisano’s makes a ton of money.
When we do take America back, we need to teach those living here how to laugh again. I thought this was funnier than he!!.

In the mid 1980’s, I bought a T-shirt at a novelty shop-tucked in, it said “If you can’t take a joke” on the front-if it was not tucked in, the line underneath was visible-it said “f*** you...” I still have it-and it is relevant again-I’m gonna go look for it...

The black one had a sign that said "Black Labs Matter." The Golden had a sign that said "All Labs Matter." Makes sense to me.
Good for them! A lot of Americans are tired of fascist bullies who try to put honest people out of business. Glad some patrons are voting with their wallets.

In all fairness, a lot of Americans were raised without olives in their food, so consider them ucky. They have missed out on all that black and green olive goodness, that are essential to Hispanic and Mediterranean recipes.
Extra virgin olive oil has that flavor, but a lot of it is lost in cooking. But sliced olives bring it back.
