Third Eye Blind taunted Republicans Tuesday night in a charity concert at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland during the party's convention, and a frustrated audience responded with persistent boos.
"@ThirdEyeBlind I have never been more disappointed," Twitter user Liza White tweeted. And in a single tweet the band indicated that they didn't care, tweeting, "good."
Jenkins wrote an op-ed in the Huffington Post in 2012 titled, "Why We Aren't Playing at the RNC," announcing that the band declined an offer to perform a private party at the GOP convention in Tampa that year, because, "They are in fact, a party dedicated to exclusion."

So, while getting paid to entertain, they decide to upset many people who went out of their way to see them. Not to mention, spend their money on them.
Of course they're allowed to express their point of view. But while they're working to entertain paying customers, people expect you to do that. They want to be entertained.
If I decided to express my point of view on social media or otherwise while clocked in with my employer, I'd be in a meeting with HR the next day. But I digress.
Way to keep fans, guys! (NOT)
Amazing how many BIGOTS there are in the entertainment biz.
Pure haters and intolerant fascists.
excluding terrorists and illegal invaders.
they have a problem with that?
I remember when those guys were big for about 15 minutes back in the 90s. Had no idea they were still around.
I’ve heard of them, but am not familiar with their work. Did they have any decent songs or were they more of a one hit wonder type of group?
Third eye Blind.
Living a “Semi Charmed life”
Maybe it’s my head injury kicing in, but weren’t they popular like in the 80s?
What makes them think they still matter?
Well, at least their concerts are inclusive.
nope.
Pure haters and intolerant fascists.
How can you say that?
Didn't you read where they said, referring to us, "They are in fact, a party dedicated to exclusion."?
I turn a deaf ear towards that crappy band.
That did kind of read like I was a fan, didn’t it. I have the ‘90’s CD that has “Jumper” on it. Other than that, I don’t follow them.
I just feel disappointed when I hear these things, that’s all.
Normally, on these threads, I just post, “Shut Up and Sing!”
But these days, I need to post, “STFU and Sing!”
Honestly, such a bunch of bitter losers. WHY can’t ‘entertainers’ just entertain and keep their politics to themselves?
Why can’t Ben & Jerry’s? Why can’t Starbucks? Why can’t Target? Why can’t JC Penney? Why can’t Matt Damon? Why can’t...Blah, Blah, Blah!
These people think they can still live their luxury lives when their income is cut in half? Someone needs to introduce them to Supply Side Economics and Consumer CHOICE!
Dumbasses.
As if they would have been so successful or rich just selling
their music to Democrats.
I use to love Linda Ronstadt until I head her say she wished Republicans were dead. I have not listened to her since.
Virtually all rock bands, movie actors, and artists are moral Sodomites and therefore political statists. We should always assume they are enemies until proven otherwise. No one should be surprised that they would disrespect their fans, because 90% of their fans will listen to them anyway, no matter what they say. Like most people keep right on watching Matt Damon, George Clooney, and their America hating fellow travelers.
The lead singer was on TV talking about the incident, and his lisp cause my FAGGOT ALERT to go off. It wouldn’t re-set until I changed the channel.
Great observations.
IMHO, it’s the money and the people around them that try to get a piece of that money.
They tell them how great they are and never question their ideas, words or actions.
Pure celebrity.
And sadly many of these very talented artists need this constant reinforcement and they end up finding it among a fleeting group of liberal idiots.
“Five to one baby
one in five,
No one here gets out alive”
In 2012 I took my now departed mom to see a live concert (part of a series of “oldies” concerts). The artists were “Chad and Jeremy” (Yea, I don’t blame you if you’ve never heard of them).
It was right before the election and these two british cretins started trash-talking Romney and talking up Ødungo (it’s OK if we do but not them!). There were some grumbles from the audience but older white people tend to tolerant and polite to a fault. I on the other hand have no time for boors or cretins and shouted out “Shut up and sing!”.
The reaction was mixed - about 40% loved it, 10% were annoyed with me and the rest were just impatient for the show to start.
One of the two (I don’t know and don’t care) got indignant and acted like he was going to walk offstage. The emcee ( a personal friend) came out and urged them to start their act and whispered to them, “That is if you want to get paid”.
Afterward I apologized to my mom, thinking that I had embarrassed her. “Don’t worry about me - I had the best time ever!”
Fun show.
Up there with Peter and Gordon.
