Aleppo (Syria) (AFP) - Syrian residents and the opposition expressed outrage on Wednesday at the brutal beheading of a child by a rebel group in Aleppo city, branding it a "heinous act".

The horrific murder, captured in footage circulated on social media Tuesday, was carried out by Islamist rebels who accused the boy of fighting alongside government forces.

Snip...

The faction had already been accused of abuses, with Amnesty International earlier this month saying it was among several rebel factions committing war crimes and other violations of international law.

In Washington, the State Department said it was aware of reports of the "appalling" incident and that involvement with the group could be reviewed.

They like to hang people and chop heads off.

your post is true in it’s entirety, but not to put too fine a point on it, they don’t chop heads off; they saw them off with undersized knives...

OK by me, considering the US has no legal right to have any presence in, or over Syria, and the Russians HAVE a treaty with the Internationally recognized Government of Syria (Assad's government).

Islam has not been perverted, it cannot be prevented any further. Islam comes that way right out of the box. Don’t apologize for Islam, the dogma is violent and grotesque to it’s very core. Those mesmerized by the delusion of Islam need to be set free from it’s chains one way or the other. There are no longer any excuses left for further tolerance, they have all been thoroughly exhausted, at this point you are with civilization or you are with Islam. Pick a side.

No, no, no...see, these guys are not part of the rebel group. They have hijacked a great and peaceful rebel group. The vast majority of this rebel group simply want to live their lives in peace with their loving families. This rebel group is part of the fabric of our society and were proud participants in the founding of our great country.

I can’t find the video over at Live Leak, when I first saw it I thought it unusual the the boy had an IV in his right forearm. The pic now up at the site has a cropped photo that removes the left forearm
