When President Obama entered office, he dreamed that his hope-and-change messaging and his references to his familial Islamic roots would win over the Muslim world. The soon-to-be Nobel Peace Prize laureate would make the U.S. liked in the Middle East. Then, terrorism would decrease.
But, as with his approach to racial relations, Obama's remedies proved worse than the original illness.
Obama gave his first presidential interview to Al Arabiya, noting that he has Muslims in his family. He implicitly blamed America's strained relations with many Middle Eastern countries on his supposedly insensitive predecessor, George W. Bush.
The new message of the Obama administration was that the Islamic world was understandably hostile because of what America had done rather than what it represented.

'The Detroit Free Press reports Muslims played a critical role in the November midterm elections.
Imam Mahdy Bray, Speaking at a Muslim American Society and Islamic Circle of North America convention in Dearborn, highlighted the effective effort to turn out Muslim voters in Virginia.
The effort was so organized that Muslim taxi drivers in northern Virginia took the day off to ferry Muslims to the polls, said Imam Mahdy Bray, a speaker at the convention. Volunteers also made phone calls to Muslims in Virginia to urge them to vote, he said.
As a result, Democrat James Webb ousted incumbent Republican George Allen by about 9,000 votes in a race in which 50,000 Muslims went to the polls -- 47,000 of them voting for Webb, Bray said.

If 96 percent of Muslims are going to vote Democratic, that would make them a more reliable Democratic constituency than African Americans. Democrats consistently receive only about 80 percent of African American votes.

In truth, religious intolerance, gender apartheid, illiteracy, autocracy, statism, tribalism and religious fundamentalism all guarantee poverty, economic stagnation and scapegoating. While much of Asia and Latin America progressed through reform, the Middle East blame-gamed its miseries on affluent Western nations and on Israel.
“Muslim outreach” is simply appeasement, hoping you are the last to be eaten by the crocodile. Granted, liberals live in a fantasy land where if we set up midnight basketball for thugs they will stop being thugs, if we give free stuff to people they will stop demanding more free stuff, and if we appease people who want us dead, that they will no longer want us dead.
Muslims don’t care about outreach or compromise. They care about Dar al-Salam, which doesn’t mean “If we tell you we respect you, then I can practice my religion and you can practice yours and that is the end of it”, it means “Be a muslim, be a kaffir, or be dead. In the end, those are the only choices. We will bide our time, but that is the end result.”
Liberals like to fool themselves into thinking it is not.
