Milo Suspended Permanently by Twitter Minutes Before ‘Gays For Trump’ Party At RNC
Breitbart ^ | 19 Jul 2016 | Ben Kew

Posted on 07/19/2016 8:37:11 PM PDT by Right Wing Assault

Breitbart Tech editor Milo Yiannopoulos has been suspended from Twitter once more just 20 minutes before his “Gays for Trump” event takes place at the Republican National Convention.

The justification for the suspension is currently unknown, although it could be as a result of Milo’s run-in with Ghostbusters actress Leslie Jones on the site. Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey publicly reached out to Jones late on Monday evening following her complaints of “abuse” on the platform.

BuzzFeed are reporting that the suspension is permanent, citing a statement from Twitter promising a clampdown on “targeted abuse.” Milo has also received a message from Twitter confirming that that his ban is permanent, copied below.

In a comment, Milo said “With the cowardly suspension of my account, Twitter has confirmed itself as a safe space for Muslim terrorists and Black Lives Matter extremists, but a no-go zone for conservatives.”

“Twitter is holding me responsible for the actions of fans and trolls using the special pretzel logic of the left. Where are the Twitter police when Justin Bieber’s fans cut themselves on his behalf?”

“Like all acts of the totalitarian regressive left, this will blow up in their faces, netting me more adoring fans. We’re winning the culture war, and Twitter just shot themselves in the foot.”

“This is the end for Twitter. Anyone who cares about free speech has been sent a clear message: you’re not welcome on Twitter.”

I knew, of course, that one of you would suspect I’m ‘sensitive.’ No. I’m slim. Always have been.
_____________

Like I said, you are sensitive about it. What’s that got to do with your being “slim”?

As for your other implicit assumption that people writing in favor of Milo must be from “red states” and thus know nothing about gays—I live in California—crawling with gays, and yes, I’ve known many, some for decades.

As for your statement that “Mr. Rogers was gay” I have no idea. I know he was opposed to gay marriage, was a minister, won a Medal of Freedom, and was married to one woman until his death, and raised two sons. So, perhaps you have information not available to the general public. I really don’t care if Rogers was gay or not.

You, of course, were inferring that I am fat; don’t deny it.

I am, of course, sensitive to cruelty. Deliberate cruelty, as Blanche Dubois said, is unforgiveable. Fat-shaming is deliberate cruelty.

The reason I made my respond to all, as well as to you, was because I wasn’t sure you were from a red state. Most freepers are and they do not know many gay men. I always differentiate between gay men and lesbians. Most lesbians are just boring, as Milo points out. Gay men are a true problem for society.

If Mr. Rogers wasn’t gay, he’ll do until a real one comes along.

By the way, there is another thread running in which Milo is speaking at a gay Trump rally - in front of pictures of pale, half-naked, underaged boys. I guess he’s trying for the Trump-pedo vote.

As I said, Milo needs to grow up.

You are probably trying to say “imply’ rather than “infer”. Common mistake.

The definition of ‘conservative’ is probably slightly different for each person who adheres to what they define as ‘conservatism’.

This thread started out being about Milo.

I have mixed feelings about him; he can sometimes be extremely and unnecesarily vulgar - which compulsion to be provocative seems to stem from a terrible need for attention.

At the same time, he’s brilliant, and a powerful spokesman for many conservative issues, and speaks from obvious conviction.

A guy who can so DEVASTATE liberal talking points as powerfully and eloquently as Milo can: that’s a ‘gift horse’ whose mouth I’m not inclined to inspect - I’ll just take the gift ;-)

He’s young, and I’m pretty sure he will sort himself out. In the meantime, a lot of young people are hearing another view of things from him, a view to which they may not otherwise have paid any attention.

Yes, his mouth if filthy, but he is in a battleground that the geezers do not understand at all. (I’m a geezer, by the way). Desperate times, desperate measures. “Respectable conservatives” do not treat the turf he is fighting for. It’s an alley fight, and it’s dirty, and normal conservatives don’t stand a chance. So, I’ll take any fighter, filthy mouth or not.

Finally someone who gets it. The church ladies and Moral Orals on this site who can't so much as type the word "damn" without replacing half the letters with *@, need to go crawl under their beds and go away. They are positively useless in any way in the battle for reclaiming our rights and liberties and taking our country back.

Yep, I’m for a full foxhole and all on board. Don’t diss the church ladies though, or you’ll find yourself fighting alone. When it comes to elections, some folks are more comfortable doing the actual hard work, like fundraising, calling, etc. It takes everybody. Our problem is the circular firing squad syndrome sometimes. Anybody who loathes the freedom-sucking left and HRC is my friend. That’s about it.

As another poster FR bans posters regularly. I think you’d agree it shares whatever “public utility” benefits that Twitter has.

That's true, and I would expect, other circumstances aside, that from a legal point of view the same safe harbor exists, although it appears in some instances copyright holders may not have held the same opinion.

From a public policy point of view, and the view of the users, web sites with very large market share are often held to different standards than web sites oriented to a particular viewpoint. There is also often a politically correct view of these matters from regulatory agencies as well.

I doubt the Justice Department would lift a finger to challenge the suspension of Milo's account, but should a similar large scale web site decide to, say, suspend everyone who advocated for gay marriage, or refuse, for example, to accept ads for same sex dating, then the governmental response would be quite different. And the argument that the web site is a private business and can have whatever terms of service its wants would not be an effective defense.

Twitter will ultimately have to answer to the marketplace, and their relevance and value may be either increased or decreased by their choices as to what kinds of messages they allow, and who they allow to use their service.

Then, again, it has no meaning; exactly why the political class uses the term: when if can’t follow their oath of office (adhere/defend the Constitution), they have a fall-back (”I’m a [fiscal/social/etc.] ‘conservative’”).

But, what should one expect when one only pays lip service to get elected...damn anything else. Yet, they still have their cheerleaders “Work from within...”. C’est la vie.

‘Unnecessary’ is in the eyes of the beholder, I’d think. IMO, this is where the circular-firing-squad mentality comes in: he’s an ‘outsider’ aka ‘gay’. Like the (L), the (R)NC\GOP(e) LOVE to glam upon ONE facet, then use it to beat ‘em down\out of the ‘club’....regardless of how close to 100% their thinking might be to the rest.

Pay no heed the party has done little\nothing to stem the tide re: abortion, or close the border since 9/11 (nor even slow down the pace), or shrink the size of govt, or....But, because the (L) believe in open borders, drugs and abortion, to HELL w/ ‘em. IIRC, it was the (L) who were railing AGAINST the DHS\NSA\TSA while the (R) brought out the pom-poms....yet, who’s the ‘kooks’??

>
At the same time, he’s brilliant, and a powerful spokesman for many conservative issues, and speaks from obvious conviction.
>

He’s using the tactics of the Left...with devastating results to the Socialists. He’s doing *EXACTLY* that which the Right has CRIED for for ages (like Trump): a fighter. Unlike most, he doesn’t allow the Left to walk-over/interrupt/bully/etc. him. He gives BETTER than he receives time and time again.

>
He’s young, and I’m pretty sure he will sort himself out. In the meantime, a lot of young people are hearing another view of things from him, a view to which they may not otherwise have paid any attention.
>

“I might not agree w/ X...”, put his @ss in front of as many cameras\people as possible and *FIGHT* DAMMIT. Quit spiting the nose and trying to shove ‘im back into the closet.

I’m not trying to ‘shove him in the closet’.

I guess I’m old - the gay men that I knew decades ago handled themselves with dignity and reserve - which our subject often does, as well. I wish he would do so *more* often, and dump the vulgarity. For many people, it distracts from his brilliance and message more than the gay thing does.

That wasn’t a dig at *you*, I meant it in general (bullet meet foot GOP way) :P. Sorry, if that’s the way it came across

As to your last point: Yes, you ARE old :P Days of yore EVERYONE handled themselves better, with dignity and reserve.

What did you expect with 100+ yrs of Socialism, govt over the parents\guardian, an endless counter-culture teaching the kids, etc.??
