If he wins the presidency, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump would seek to purge the federal government of officials appointed by Democratic President Barack Obama and could ask Congress to pass legislation making it easier to fire public workers, Trump ally, Chris Christie, said on Tuesday.
Christie, who is governor of New Jersey and leads Trump's White House transition team, said the campaign was drawing up a list of federal government employees to fire if Trump defeats Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in the Nov. 8 presidential election.
“As you know from his other career, Donald likes to fire people,” Christie told a closed-door meeting with dozens of donors at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, according to an audio recording obtained by Reuters and two participants in the meeting.
Christie was referring to Trump's starring role in the long-running television show "The Apprentice," where his catch-phrase was "You're fired!"
The Trump campaign did not respond to requests for comment.
Trump's transition advisers fear that Obama may convert these appointees to civil servants, who have more job security than officials who have been politically appointed. This would allow officials to keep their jobs in a new, possibly Republican, administration, Christie said.
“It’s called burrowing," Christie said. "You take them from the political appointee side into the civil service side, in order to try to set up ... roadblocks for your successor, kind of like when all the Clinton people took all the Ws off the keyboard when George Bush was coming into the White House.”

They all get to “telework” — this is supposed to take “carbon” out of the atmosphere. What is really is government-sanctioned fraud, sitting at home reading your email, and of course no one knows if you are even sitting in your “home office” or reading email at the mall.

Federal employees hired since 1984 have a 401k & social security retirement system. Only those hired before 1984 are under CSRS and there are not many of them still working.

As I recall, when Clinton took office he canned all US Attys. except one, Eric Holder, and replaced all of them with liberals.

You hit the nail on the head. Most of the functions of the Federal government in 2016 can and should be transferred to the state level. As you point out, that also would serve to eliminate so many of the positions that are filled by people with an anti-American agenda.
This is a BIG story to the medi because it’s Trump.

Those unwilling to change will either leave on their own ( which this is a signal to do ) or the will eventually be fired.

Branch for more than 12 years. After a break of 12 years in the private sector, a person may return for 12 more years in the Executive branch. Note that employment in other branches, or in state and local government is not in the private sector.
They'll simply sue in court and get a Left-wing judge to declare their Constitutional rights were violated.
They will claim they're being let go for political reasons, and their First Amendment right to free speech is being violated, and their 14th Amendment right to non-discrimination (if they are a minority), etc. etc.
I very much like the idea of eliminating their job due to budget restraints and redeploying them to odious tasks until they quit.
Still, many will survive with a clever lawyer...
I think the President can have employees “transferred”.... We have science bases in Antarctica... there could be a great need for employees there.
