Whether or not Melania Trump cribbed a passage from a Michelle Obama speech, there is one crucial sentiment Donald Trump’s Slovenian born wife certainly didn’t copy from Obama’s — the inherent pride of being an American citizen.
As the media pours over one passage in Melania Trump’s Republican National Convention speech that is similar to Michelle Obama’s 2008 speech at the Democratic National Convention, they overlook a key sentence that was undeniably written by Mrs. Trump and reveals all the difference in the world between these two women and their husbands.

This was the point I keep making. Melania and Michelle’s attitudes could not be more opposite about this country and that’s all you need to know.
Melania: Grateful to be American, grateful to live in Freedom.

If the speechwriter did willfully plagiarize, it occurs to me
the difference between political speechwriters and men of
letters is that the former is too often an ego-driven enterprise,
and the latter is very often a testimony to a great predecessor

....What a difference these sentiments are to Michelle Obama’s infamous remarks during the 2008 campaign, when she said, “For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country.”......
What REALLY made Michelle “proud the first time” was that a BLACK was the nominee of one of the major parties!!!!
For Michelle and the ENTIRE obama administration, it has been all about RACE. This is the most divisive administration in the history of the US, which has even fomented a RACE WAR in which white police officers are targeted for death!!!!
