#SpeechGate: Who Set Up Melania Trump?

... According to the operative – who ran a pro-Trump political organization prior to the “First in the South” presidential primary – many of the “new hands” ushered aboard the Trump Train in recent weeks are not loyal to their new employer. Their allegiances remain with U.S. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas – the second-place GOP finisher who bitterly denounced Trump when he dropped out of the presidential race back in May.

“I told you ‘Never Trump’ would infiltrate his campaign’s most inner sanctum,” the aide told us late Monday. “And they clearly succeeded. Knowingly plagiarizing Michelle Obama’s speech? Wow.”

According to the aide, Miller is one of several establishment “Republican” operatives loyal to Cruz who are working hard to sabotage Trump’s campaign from within – “like ISIS infiltrating the refugee population.”..

People should care because infiltration is not tin hat stuff. In fact I would be confident that after DT cleaned up and tried to mend fences his organization was the most vulnerable to infiltration and treacherous clowns. The Bushes, Cruz etc. these are bitter souls looking for revenge not reconciliation.

Tend to agree with this sentiment.

Coupled with what appears to be a leak from within the campaign that Trump was considering dumping Pence at the last minute, it is at least plausible.

No doubt the media and internet sleuths will dissect all of the major speeches for the rest of the convention.

I expect a campaign purge following the convention. Perhaps as early as following the official roll call vote.

Christie gave an interview claiming 93% wasn’t the same..so he must have used some kind of program to determine that number.

The RomneyBots are at it again...

in 2008 they set up Sarah Palin in order to torpedo McCain’s chances after infiltrating the McCain campaign...

now as rabid supporters of Cruz theyre doing it again...this time starting with Mrs trump..

I tend to agree. There is no way Trump’s campaign would have caught the lines lifted. They were intertwined in other comments. I find it weird someone discovered this within an hour after the speech. It seems like a set up. The Rick Roll made me laugh and google the lyrics when she said it. Definitely done on purpose, and Melania would unlikely catch that herself. Maybe a Trump kid or someone else vetting it.

I really don't care about this stupid media invented controversy. The tactic from our side should be to push back. I notice that we tend to fall into their trap over and over again. They create a controversy, and our side give it more legs by digging deeper and deeper into it giving it validity.

I like how Paul M and Newt handled this and that is the way should be. We only give more fuel by continuing to post on and on about it.

The solution is not to vote for Melania for President, but to vote for Donald instead.

I look at it as an opportunity ...

Every Speaker scheduled from now on should say and quote the supposed pilfered words Melania spoke last night and then Donald should as well and then follow it up with ...

Comparing who has said what and who has done what... who has a history of following through and who just utters words.

Just an idea

You are COMPLETELY missing the point of this thread.

The whole paragraph is eerily similar. I don’t think it was coincidence. Too many of the same words back to back. I suggested a never trumper last night and was called delusional. It sad that a flawless speech about being an American, American Pride, American Values is overshadowed by one paragraph.

I call BS!

Melanea made a cookie cutter First Lady speech. I haven’t done this but I’m willing to bet that if you compare Moochelle’s speech to Laura Bush or Barbara Bush or Nancy Reagan you’ll hear similar themes similarly uttered.

Any takers?

Her speech was excellent and well-delivered. Nothing else matters.

You can be sure that if this was not a Trump prank (he is a prankster), Trump and Manafort will have already had a little chat with Melania's speech writer.

It’s only important in that it distracts the message away from the disaster, the nightmare we are living every day.

Biden: We are NOT frozen in a nightmare (means we are).

I’m less pissed about the lifted paragraph than I am about it taking attention away from the speeches that really mattered last night. We should be talking about Marcus Luttrell and Pat Smith today.

It probably boils down to the same problem he had at the state conventions: lack of ground game and poor preparation. We all know the prospective first lady speech is boilerplate and has been basically the same speech every single time it’s been given for the last 200 years. BUT somebody should have done the ground work to make sure it didn’t sound too much like any recent rendition. I mean, I know in this focus grouped age when all movies are basically the same because they’re following the same book that dictates down to the second when events should happen it’s an easy trap to fall into, but somebody needs to have done the work, much like they needed to do the work on the delegate selection process. You’ve got to scrape the serial numbers off, especially in the internet age when most old speeches are one youtube search away. There’s a lack of detail orientation in this campaign.

It was more likely due to carelessness and disorganization than any deliberately planned act. Writing and vetting Melania Trump’s speech was obviously not high on the list of Monday night priorities and so this blunder slipped through. Maybe now Trump will realize why other candidates have campaign staffs in the hundreds instead of a few dozen.

I'd be surprised if any conservative would picked up on this. Who listened to and remembered Michelle's speech?

The paragraph was about her upbringing and values. That should be genuine not a copy of someone elses.

I hear you. I would be surprised if that wasn’t the first thing that Trump did today.

This whole thing is RIDICULOUS..a few quotes that lasted what, 22 seconds compared to a 45 minute speech..now if the ENTIRE speech were word for word from Michelle Obama’s speech(Which by the way she did NOT write herself) then I can thing something underhanded happened but COME ON, everyone, from Presidential candidates to VP Candidates to potential first ladies all have speech writers who take little snippets from other speeches and blend it into their own speech..this is a whole bunch of nonsense..and really WHO CARES..it was a great speech and I enjoyed hearing it..this is all about taking the focus off of Guiliani’s speech and the Benghazi families speeches which were all GREAT and told the story of Hillary Clinton being a murdering b*tch
