Turkey suspended more than 15,000 Education Ministry workers on Tuesday and demanded resignations from all university deans ... Yay! Jobs for everyone else (once it is all sorted out). On second thought, it may take no small amount of courage to teach under these circumstances.

These educators had nothing to do with the coup.
They are being purged to replace the islamic tradition of the Ottoman Empire (the Hanafi Fiqh) with that of the extreme Wahabbi sect (Hanbali Fiqh), which produces all the murdering Sunni jihadi terrorist groups.
This is fundamentally transforming Turkey into a long term threat to the West, by radicalizing the population - not just consolidating a dictatorship for Erdogan.

They always want to get their hands on the young skulls full of mush.
If you want to know how it occurred here with Marxist-socialism, search on “The Frankfurt School”.

Estrogen has been transforming once secular Turkey into an Islamic state for awhile, but this indeed speeds things up. He must be worried Trump will win.

Erdogan is now making a really good case for why a coup was justified, even if this one appears to have very likely been staged for just this purpose. The west really needs to stop pretending that this guy is in any way our friend or ally.

It is clear by the attack on judges and educators that Erdogan is telling people they will support him or they will loose their jobs. This is all about a Dictator making sure that he totally consolidates power.

If Turkish educators hate their country as much as US educators do, I might well have to change my opinion of the man, and donate to his re-election.
