Turkey suspended more than 15,000 Education Ministry workers on Tuesday and demanded resignations from all university deans as authorities widened their far-reaching crackdowns in the wake of a failed coup attempt.

The 15,200 personnel were being investigated for links to the power grab launched last week, the ministry said in a statement. In addition, 1,577 university deans from Turkey's public and private universities were asked to hand in their notice. A further 492 staff were removed from duty at the country's top Islamic authority.

Erdogan a discipile of Rahm Emmanuael's axiom about politics; never let a [fake] crisis go to waste.

Looks like there will be a lot of executions done in underground bunkers that we will never hear about either.

Already made. Just no one told obama OR he was happy about it.

Turkey is gone, it aided the enemy in time of war, and should be kicked out of Nato.

Their helping of ISIS deserved a nice carpet bombing.

By the time Erdogan is finished, he will have purged all secular forces in Turkey and will have established a full Islamic dictatorship, similar to Iran. All he needs to do now to complete the picture is to start hanging opponents from construction cranes, like Iran. More likely many of the purged opponents will disappear into prisons never to be seen again except for those brought out to confess there crimes after they have been tortured.

Iran-lite is what I’m hearing. Erdogan may well have orchestrated the ‘coup’ so that he could get his enemies to expose themselves. His goal all along has been to convert Turkey back into an Islamic state. Look for him to leave NATO as well.

I’m not sure about how far this goes now. By selecting the university deans and staffs....it’ll get the college and university student folks hyped up and rioting. It’s simply a witch-hunt now....the fake coup business doesn’t fit for all these forced resignations.

Erdogan can figure zero invitations to Europe for a while.

He was Prime Minister but was term limited so he became President, a ceremonial role, but installed a puppet PM. Edorgan wants to change Turkey's constitution to transfer to make the President have all executive power.

It’s amazing they had the purge list ready at hand before the coup was over. Who, other than Obama, is stupid enough to think this wasn’t staged?
Their counter-terrorism official against ISIS attended a meeting and was found bounded ans his throat slit. One Erdogen’s son is free to get wealthy buying oil from ISIS, at least until Russia has bombed all their assets.

Estrogen has been transforming once secular Turkey into an Islamic state for awhile, but this indeed speeds things up.

Excerpts:

The 1979 revolution continued the country’s emphasis on education with the new government putting its own stamp on the process. The most important change was the Islamization of the education system. All students were segregated by sex. In 1980, the Cultural Revolution Committee was formed to oversee the institution of Islamic values in education. An arm of the committee, the Center for Textbooks (composed mainly of clerics), produced 3,000 new college-level textbooks reflecting Islamic views by 1983.[7] Teaching materials based on Islam were introduced into the primary grades within six months of the revolution.

(...)

The country’s 16 universities were closed after the 1979 revolution and were then reopened gradually between 1982 and 1983 under Islamic supervision.

While the universities were closed, the Cultural Revolution Committee investigated professors and teachers and dismissed those who were believers in Marxism, liberalism, and other “imperialistic” ideologies. The universities reopened with Islamic curricula.
