Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump is leading presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton by 11 points with Independents, 38 percent to 27 percent, according to a new Morning Consult poll. But he’s still down by two points in a head-to-head match up, 41 percent to 39 percent.

It is hard to judge nowadays what is the relevance of prior politics and polls versus the Trump Effect of now.
Historically, my feeling is that for a Democrat to win the Presidency against a strong Republican, he/she HAS to have numbers of blacks reaching over 95%, virtually the same thing for gays, most of the Jewish vote, high percentage of Hispanics, strong support from moderates and independents, plus some wiggling (what I’d call illegal/fraudulent voting).
I just don’t see that for Hillary now. She may have women, but she’s not strong with moderates and independents, her numbers with Hispanics and blacks aren’t that high and some other falling support that used to be automatic.
She’s not a likeable person and she is harsh and dodgy. If you listen to her, the standard catch phrase when asked about something topical is “oh, I’ve always had a consistent record for.......” when it can be demonstrated that she has not. She got away with it before because of media, but that wall is wilting, paper thin in some places.
I don’t think she has the stamina nor the willing support from moderators and media to get away with that crap in a debate - so she’ll limit those like its her Ebola. She also won’t interface with media in venues where questions and tone can’t be prescreened beforehand. She takes the standard attorney rule “always know the answer before you pose the question in court” and transforms it to “always know and control the question before you deign to allow the question to be posed.”
Lastly, her health. She’s hiding something. To me I don’t see evidence of “no health issues” save the fact the campaign and media lapdogs come out with Dr. reports and how she has stamina and ‘walks!’
She’s an unfriendly, unlikeable and the only time you can see genuine joy in her face is when she has a drink in it or when she’s standing next to some hot young, well-endowed chickadee.
I suspect that we could see a landslide for Trump coming out of this and that at best she’ll lose, but with a passable showing. I’m hoping and praying for it, certainly.
I hope you are right. With the Black Panthers being allowed to guard polls in Philly and the Florida fraud where “nothing” was done, we will still have problems. The illegals will be bused in to specific districts and vote several times in several states. That is the purpose of voter ID which Dems have fought for years.
How much of the independent vote did Romney get? It seems like there are still a huge number of undecided independents.
Independents really count this year.
I’m pretty confident that Trump will have a large battalion of lawyers ready to deal with all of Crooked Hillary’s attempts at election theft.
He’s gonna have to do better than that, since the democrats will all be voting two or three times, and illegals will be crowding the polls doing their level best to sneak in and vote Hillary.

We all need to remember the polls leading up to 2012 were all supposedly wrong and Mittens would win.
We had supposedly low conservative turnout even though the stakes were “never higher” then too.
Also, this time voter fraud will be higher than 2012.
So everyone needs to hold off predicting victory. Wait for conventions and debates.
Many Freepers know I am NOT a fan of political polls but in this case, anytime I see Trump ahead of Hitlary I get my “Chris Mathews feeling up my leg”. :) If indeed the independents support Trump to the extent shown in the article, I see Trump as our new POTUS.

I hope so too. They may not vote for Trump but they may not be motivated to turn out for Hillary.
This is a meme I have seen repeated around here. I was here in 2008 and 2012. In 2012 there were a few outlier pols showing Mitt winning, but after the Summer MOST polls showed Obama winning and Romney losing in the battleground states. This time around metrics are different. We are entitled to our opinion but not entitled to our own facts. The MSM are in full on propaganda mode, they are not even trying to hide it. I would agree with you, let's look at polls for trends and for entertainment value, but for morale purposes that dangerous territory.
We have a genuine evil cabal(I'd say Satanically influenced) looking to destroy the forces of good. Democrat Liberalism is not simply a difference of opinion it's covetous, lying, and murderous. Why do you think Obama and his minions gravitate towards evil(Abortion on demand, crushing personal freedom except in the case of sexual perversity, tip toeing around Islam). Obama is not a good man, not a moral man, not a man living as if the Holy Spirit is working through him. God will deal with him later. Hillary is the same type of person as Obama, not a good person, not a person where their fruit shows they are upright, just or trying to be holy. She needs to be defeated also. About 40% of this country is on the razor's edge of being evil or full on evil. Reprobates not worth trying to save(Something they have to do themselves)

Mr. Trump has just chosen an AA women for outreach yesterday.
It must be an over-sampling of dems.

The Dems still have time to ditch her and nominate someone else.
