Newt Gingrich: I'd still serve in Trump's administration
CBS News / Face the Nation ^ | July 17, 2016 | Emily Schultheis

Posted on 07/17/2016 11:29:59 AM PDT by monkapotamus

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich may not have been Donald Trump's choice as a running mate, but he said Sunday that he's not disappointed--and that he'd still be happy to serve in Trump's administration.

"I would certainly serve with the president, preferably in a position that he and I would work out," Gingrich said on CBS' "Face the Nation..."

"I think Pence is a great choice," Gingrich said...

Gingrich also explained why he recently referred to Trump as a "pirate..." "This is a guy who is going to be different -- if you want to break up the corrupt bureaucratic, incestuous system of Washington, you had better have somebody who has a very strong personality and who's very willing to get in fights," he said. "You're not going to get some nice pleasant corporate bureaucrat to come to this city and dramatically change it..."

Thank you for the vote of confidence. I've not had good experiences dealing with OPM. They wouldn't like me much as boss.

DIRNSA would be a better fit maybe.

Very dignified from Newt, a real show if his character with the grace with which he congratulates Pence.

Newt would be a superb Sec of State

Newt is dangerous. He wants to make it a felony if a person visits certain websites. This guy thinks censorship is a good idea. I find that very interesting.

Now, had he said, “If someone were visiting sites that are pro ISIS, we are going to record the instance and keep an electronic eye on the person. If there are multiple post stating allegiance, we will bring them to jail to await their hearing.”. That I could get behind. But his ideas are dangerous.

Department of Veterans Affairs - ELIMINATE
No. The medical facilities need to be closed, vets get vouchers for private care, and only those vets with service connected problems get medical vouchers.

I like that you’ve cut Trump’s direct responsibility to seven people.

Every management course/workshop I’ve ever taken has said seven is the magic number.

I would actually create a new cabinet position. I don’t know what you would call it but its position would be used too look at government agency’s for the purpose of eliminating bureaucracy. the idea being that it is hard for agency’s to shrink themselves. you need an outsider agency to decide when money and resources are being wasted and personnel and departments should be cut.

I’m good with that. You would become the 18th director since the office was created in 1952.

Since I returned to using the name Department of War, the DOD abbreviation is available.

How about Department of Departments (DOD.)

Reminds me of a scifi short story I read decades ago, where the main character proposed creation of a "List of lists," since no one could remember what they all were. His suggestion was approved, and an entire government department was created, to handle that important function.

We want people in Trump’s Administration that support the creating of JOBS in America and believing in Global Warming, like Newt does, is not going to create any. Let’s support the Coal, Oil, Natural Gas, Pipeline, & LNG companies & related projects in our Country and Make America Great Again!

I’m going with Secretary of State. Help to ban muslims...er, I mean people from terrorist countries, getting us out of the UN and leaning on EBT card members of NATO.

And, of course, making Jean-Francois Kerry pull out his massive amount of hair.
