No. I am not [a NeverTrump]. I would not have wanted him for our candidate but I have not been disrespectful about it and I do respect the fact he won the nomination and I respect the will of the people. And..I am not a closet anything. My husband would confirm that.
Funny because pence is money in England, well a type of money they use to use. 12 pence would equal a shilling. Let’s hope Hillary is stupid enough to pick someone like Jay Nixon so we could have a Clinton-Nixon ticket. Too bad nobody is named Cryme or we could have a Clinton-Cryme ticket, very fitting. You ever notice the Obama-Biden ticket looks an awful lot like the name Osama Bin-Laden? I always wondered if that was intentional.

If you were here in Indiana you would know that the fault lies with our careless legislature. They passed a bill without having complete legal vetting. AFTER it was passed and sign. The legal experts realized it would not pass muster in the federal court system
Rather then let it become case law by failing in the judiciary (like Row vs Wade). Pence took the bold step of deep sixing it. He knows as many others that a better case will follow when we have been able to stack the court with conservative justices.
Unless you WANT another loss in conservative values at the SCOTUS, be patient and let the experts handle it.

I am a practicing Catholic and very happy with the choice of pro-life Pence.
As I was typing this, I just heard so-called Catholic Nancy Pelosi's voice on the radio news attacking Pence for his position on the LGBT issue. I knew the Dems would find someething to attack him about. I turned off the radio as fast as possible.

Other than dignity, I think Pence has depth of character, experience and intelligence. He carries himself well and I think even though he has disagreed with Trump, re: NAFTA and Trump’s comments about the Judge, he was not disrespectful about it..they simply disagreed. What do you think about Trump choosing Pence?Honestly, I don't know. From my perspective, he came out of left field; this was not someone I'd even heard of prior to his name appearing on the prospective list. At this point, I haven't even heard him speak. I was hoping for Gingrich, so from that perspective I'm disappointed.
What I am reading is that he is someone recommended by Paul Manafort and was selected in part to alleviate concerns within the party about Trump's conservatism - to sooth some of the discord going into the convention.
If Trump wins, in theory this would be the person at the top of the ticket in 2024. He seems like a person that would be unlikely to rise to that spot on his own, but I guess you can say the same about Bush 1, Gerald Ford, and any other number of VPs that eventually went on to be President.
I hope he can hold his own in one of those non-debate debates that the media like to host. I don't want to see another Ryan vs. Biden debacle, where our team is playing by the Marquis de Queensbery rule book and the other side is in no-holds-barred mode. I hope he can kick the living heck out of whatever loon Hillary eventually picks. Beyond that, I don't think the VP pick is all that important.

The state legislature is Dem. controlled, held hostage by Speaker Mike Madigan... despised by downstate voters.
Billions of dollars owed to the public, in deeply underfunded pensions, with no solution in sight.
Manufacturing decimated by closures and relocations.
Sanctuary cities.
Chicago- Obama’s incubator.
Coal country.
Possible voter revolt brewing against all things Obama, all things Clinton, all things Democrat.
Downstate voters (south of I-80) versus upstate voters.
I see a possibility of Illinois going red.

This sounds like a wise choice. I don’t know Pence very well but just from reading your comments, it seems he has chosen a counterpart both for the campaign, the election, the administration at first, and the long haul re President potential.
By the way, Trump knows he is more likely to be assassinated than most, with the media nearly wishing it out loud. That is something too.
