Pence has a strong track record of approving and supporting trade deals.

It’s all good. Still voting for Trump, just disappointed.

A lot of people apparently are very unhappy with the announcement, unhappy with CNN as the source and unhappy finding this thread which had been in Breaking News on Free Republic.

Please don't shoot the messenger and please don't ban me. Thanks!

Local ABC News just gave another Breaking News announcement:

Donald Trump is on a local fund-raising visit today.

Local ABC News confirmed "again" that Mike Pence has "officially been offered the VP slot by Donald Trump" and that Pence has "formally accepted."

Local ABC News said that Trump "also announced" that he had delayed his announcement, which had been scheduled for tomorrow, due to the Nice, France terrorist strike today.

USA Today/ Indianapolis Star Headline and link only:

Indiana Gov. Mike Pence is Donald Trump's VP pick

CNN updated and confirmed again the story at 8:31 pm Eastern time.

ABC National News also just confirmed that Pence is the official VP nominee.

The billions of dollars guy has a veep of Pence. Some vague pun there, I suppose.

Of course many of us were keenly disappointed when Pence backed down on his religious freedom initiative. But I’ve wondered if Trump promised Pence that he’d stand up firm for such things as the big cheese, making the match-up attractive to both of them.

Interesting points, HTR!

I don't know how to post a copy of Twitter (and I don't have a Twitter account) but this is the info:

John Hanlon, WISH TV: Mike Pence leaving Mount Comfort Airport in Greenfield, Ind. at 4:10 headed to Teterboro Airport in New Jersey.

WISH-TV ‏@WISH_TV · 4h4 hours ago .@GovPenceIN has landed in New Jersey. http://bit.ly/29WqyNU

I tracked the plane on flightaware: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N884B (sorry, couldn't get the hot link working)

Flew from Indy to NJ, then straight back. It's scheduled to fly from Indy to Cleveland OH tomorrow morning; that might change since Trump has delayed the VP announcement.

I like Quayle, but Bush sent him out there with inadequate preparation and the media created a negative image of him before he knew what hit him. If Bush had picked someone more experienced in 1988 (say Kemp) it would have been better. Quayle’s career seems to be over after his unsuccessful run for President (still burdened by the media caricature of him). If he had stayed in the Senate and built up more of a record he would have been more credible as a Presidential candidate. But hindsight is always 20/20.

The one good thing about this election is that, either way, I’ll get to observe an epic meltdown by low information voters.

If CNN, ABC local and national news outlets lied about Trump's campaign "officially disclosing" that Donald Trump had "officially" asked Mike Pence to be his running mate, and that Mike Pence had "formally accepted;" then BBC News also is lying in their headline story from nearly five hours ago.

If it's all a terrible lie, the media walking back the story might be at least interesting to watch.

BBC: Donald Trump chooses Mike Pence as his running mate

Conservatives barely win statewide contests all over the country now-a-days. Thanks to elected pseudo conservatives for several decades who have allowed mas importation of cheap labor immigrants for several decades.

The insanity of choosing Pence must stop. We need a qualified candidate entirely capable of stepping into President Trump's shoes day one if needed. Newt is also much more capable and forceful dealing with the Congress and Senate to get Mr. Trump's agenda passed than Pence is."

Jmouse007, thanks for sharing your thoughts on Trump's choice of a running mate.

Whatever has gone into the process of picking a suitable VP candidate, it's likely going to become an issue of trusting that vetting process or not.

If you trust the vetting process, it's likely you'll soon find Trump's choice of a running mate at least a little more of an agreeable selection than how you view Trump's choice now.

I think that Trump will have an informal “Kitchen Cabinet” consisting of his Children and SIL. They all have jobs to do outside of Government, but will be an invaluable resource for Donald.

I am very impressed by Trump’s children and they are a major part of why I support him. Trump’s children are a view into his intellect, values, and temperament. They echo him in so many positive ways. They truly will be the First Family and maybe the Best family to govern our beloved country.
