A) round up every stinking one of them and deport them.
OR
B) effective plan with disincentives for staying that prod them to self-deport
I actually prefer Option B myself and I think this is a more likely path forward. If so then Ryan is against something that may not even happen.

I don’t believe Trump is pushing for mass deportation, is he?
Ugh. This man is so unbearable. Even McConnell doesn’t keep shooting off his mouth like this. And the really aggravating aspect of what Ryan says is that much of what he’s attacked Trump about over the last couple of months has involved him misrepresenting Trump’s stances, words, or intent with the same sort of spin that the press does.
I saw Trump on TV late last year saying that after he started enforcing all the laws and getting tougher, etc., many illegals will leave on their own accord. There shouldn’t actually be a need to forceably round up and have mass deportations of every last of the millions of illegals.
Start with deporting the criminals while securing the border and insituting eVerify and cracking down on sanctuary cities (as he said he will do). Most will then leave on their own. After that the government can work at getting the rest out probably on a one by one basis, rather than mass shipments south (that the press will spin like a new Holocaust). But, of course, Ryan wouldn’t care about misrepresenting the details, however important they are, because he naturally wants all the cheap labor to stay here.
Yet he wants to speak at the Convention! Trump should deny him that, which should seal Lyin’ Ryan’s political fate.

They are basing the claim on the debate from (I believe) November when Trump praised Eisenhower’s operation to deport illegal Mexicans back to Mexico in the 1950s. He also said then that we need a “deportation force.” The thing is even during Eisenhower’s so-called “Operation Wetback,” scholars say that more illegals returned home on their own accord than the million or so who were deported. All that the government needed to do was show that it was serious and begin the deportations and most decided they wanted to return home on their own terms instead.
