But not necessarily the same volume? 10-round SKS magazine vs. ##-round for an AK? Or modified SKS with a larger mag?

I would add that I did pay $450 for a French 1936 Bolt Action MAS in 7.5X54. But it was pristine. Dropped once, never fired.

Didn’t Obama ban Russian imported guns? How, oh how, would a Russian import still be used in a crime with a law that says you can’t do that?

Bueller?

It seems painfully clear that his post is all sarcasm, aimed at media’s gun related hysteria and poor lingo usage.

I’ve got a Yugo too. I steam-cleaned the stock but I read you can run it through the dishwasher.

I reckon my better half is pretty tolerant (she’s never caught me exploring the more industrial uses for a dishwasher...). I do have tin of Swiss waffenfett rifle grease in the fridge’s crisper bin, though. It doesn’t seem to bother her.

The picture is likely showing, The rifle is an AK47 variant called a Vepr (7.62 and not 5.45) with a 30 round tapco mag, single point sling. There appears to be a joint at the base of the butstock indicating that it might be a folding stock, and an imitation Trijicon sight. If the sight is a real tirjicon then Fahed probably brought it back from Afghanistan. A real trijicon is pricy, over 1,000 USD.

This was a highly capable set up. He knew what he was doing. He had practiced with it as set up as well and carried his M4 similarly in Afgh.

Interesting how the MSM so-called gun experts always wind up shooting themselves in the foot when trying to identify firearms.

Even Fox News falls victim to the "experts" sometimes.
Fox News "expert" says adding a scope on a hunting rifle creates an "Assault Rifle".

IIRC, around 2003 you could find a Yugoslav SKS for around $125 at the gun shows.

Oh no! Is that the M1 with the 8 bayonet clip and the grenade lug?

I'm toast now!

The Chinese were licensed to build the SKS in 1959. Those used in the Korean conflict were Russian manufactured.

In the end, it’s an as-issued front line infantry rifle.
