DALLAS -- Dallas Police Chief David Brown has confirmed at least 11 police officers were shot and at least five were killed in an attack by two snipers in downtown Dallas at a protest of officer-involved shootings across the country on Thursday night.
Dallas police sources confirmed to News 8 early Friday one suspect is dead after a long standoff with police. A female suspect was taken into custody earlier in the night. It is unclear at this time if they are the only suspects involved...
Meanwhile, a massive police presence surrounded a vehicle and questioned two individuals they took into custody on Interstate 35 at Ann Arbor Avenue in Dallas in what turned out to be a false lead.
According to Dallas police, that situation began when a Dallas police officer saw an individual carrying a camouflage bag walking quickly down Lamar Street. The individual threw the bag into black Mercedes, when then sped off at a high rate of speed. Officers followed the vehicle southbound on I-35 and stopped it on I-35 at Kiest.
Police questioned both occupants of the vehicle before releasing them. The driver told News 8's Demond Fernandez he was just picking up his brother from the bus station and the bag was his brother's luggage.

No, this is the time, after Sandy Hook, Ft. Hood, Charleston, San Bernidito, Orlando and now Dallas, for the NRA, GOP and all gun owners to band together and not only permit open carry for all citizens, but to promote open carry across the nation.
It could be promoted by federal tax incentives to purchase guns.
We could take a line from the Miranda ruling, but state, if you cannot afford a gun, a gun will be provided to you.

You know better than that. The black poverty rate in the U.S. is about 26 percent, which is much too high but which still means that about three quarters of blacks in the U.S. are NOT poor. A majority are middle class. An increasing number are upper middle class and wealthy. The portion of the black population that has its act together is doing very well.
The problems of the underclass are serious, but the underclass is the exception, not the norm. In fact, with an illegitimacy rate of over 70 percent in the black community, it's a wonder the underclass is not larger than it is. We -- "society" -- are already managing to salvage many lives that begin with two strikes. And on that topic, remember that most of the black thugs roaming the tough streets and the welfare moms in the projects have close relatives -- a parent, siblings, cousins -- who manage to hold jobs, buy homes, and lead reasonably orderly lives.
It is long past time for the black middle class to apply some tough love to the underclass, instead of excusing and defending it out of misplaced racial solidarity. At the same time, we must recognize the anger of the underclass for what it is. It is the fury of the left-behinds, who see not only whites, asians, and hispanics, but other black people as well, forging ahead. If there were a simple solution to underclass pathologies, we'd have implemented it long ago. But don't confuse the underclass with the black community as a whole.

With an illegitimacy rate of over 70% in the black community, the only thing that keeps the whole house of cards standing is a massive flow of cash into these communities in the form of useless, unnecessary government jobs. That's how you end up with a nation that is $20 trillion in debt and nothing to show for its generations-long "war on poverty."

I give these people more credit than that. It's not "misplaced racial solidarity" at all. A large portion of the black middle class is only "middle class" because of the factors I described above, and by any measure other than the paycheck they take home they aren't much different than the underclass at all. And they know this. Anyone who has worked with a black co-worker in a "middle class" job will tell you that something is very wrong with the whole situation.
We've been trying, but it hasn't worked.
Planned Parenthood is the "simple solution."
