I don't quibble with the numbers you present, but you overlook something very important here:
In fact, with an illegitimacy rate of over 70 percent in the black community, it's a wonder the underclass is not larger than it is. We -- "society" -- are already managing to salvage many lives that begin with two strikes.
With an illegitimacy rate of over 70% in the black community, the only thing that keeps the whole house of cards standing is a massive flow of cash into these communities in the form of useless, unnecessary government jobs. That's how you end up with a nation that is $20 trillion in debt and nothing to show for its generations-long "war on poverty."
It is long past time for the black middle class to apply some tough love to the underclass, instead of excusing and defending it out of misplaced racial solidarity.
I give these people more credit than that. It's not "misplaced racial solidarity" at all. A large portion of the black middle class is only "middle class" because of the factors I described above, and by any measure other than the paycheck they take home they aren't much different than the underclass at all. And they know this. Anyone who has worked with a black co-worker in a "middle class" job will tell you that something is very wrong with the whole situation.
I’s been said that the black middle class is an entirely artificial construct, and without the FedGov’s influence it would not exist at all.
Social programs are always described as an “investment”, as if we’d get something back from all the money we’ve put into them. However, America looks at the return and says “I want my trillion dollars back”.
