Donald Trump on Monday spent part of his July 4th with Sen. Joni Ernst -- fueling speculation that the Iowa freshman senator could be on the short list of his vice presidential picks.

Ernst told Fox News they had a "good conversation," adding, "I will continue to share my insights with Donald about the need to strengthen our economy, keep our nation safe, and ensure America is always a strong, stabilizing force around the globe."

Earlier, Trump tweeted, "I look forward to meeting (Ernst) today in New Jersey. She has done a great job as Senator of Iowa!"

“I know that Mark Levin likes her. She is probably a solid conservative.”

If Mark is for her, I’m agin her.

“I agree. Women are for peacetime. Even then, they make a fn mess.”

I thought Margaret Thatcher did rather well. Golda Meir, also.

I’ll grant that a lot of women on the ‘leader track’ have learned some very poor-leadership habits. That said, women who are good leaders certainly exist.

I’ve had quite a few female supervisors. They’ve tended to be mostly towards the best and the worst bosses.

I think the ‘reality’ around Gingrich has long since been created. That would need to be broken...and how he left office makes him harder to defend with enthusiasm.

Lady Thatcher

That’s one that immediately came to mind.

Duncan Hunrer Jr. The ideal VP—young, veteran, and a chip off the old block! Also from CA.

I’m an engineer (female) and loved my male bosses and hated the females. The men were about the job, getting it done, and were predictable.

the women were backstabbing and ego-driven.

Remnants of Eve, most likely.

That’s not how you win elections - having a woman on the ticket is a great idea given Trump’s negatives among that cohort and also to blunt the coming “historic” Hillary-Warren ticket.

He was also for destroying the terrorists without compromise and he WAS for a smaller government. I believe the quote was in context of letting people KEEP THEIR OWN MONEY via tax cuts. That is conservative. Deficits can be attacked through other methods.

Regarding homosexuality, I agree his statements aren’t fully on board with what is optimum. I do note, however, as far as I know he has NOT supported the destruction of religious freedom. His attitude seems much more “hands off”.

He was more conservative than Dubya.

I’m not a Rand Paul fan but if Trump wins, I’d like to see him appoint RP to audit the Fed and expose that vile & treasonous group.

” Deficits can be attacked through other methods”!
That’s right, try reducing the size of our bloated, worthless federal gub mint..
About 65 percent of this federal gub mint is worthless, and does little more than act as sucker fish.

Didn’t she head to DC and flip to Rino?

I doubt she can do that. The younger generation does not relate to military service, nor hog castration. She has a poor record since she entered DC. 60%

Sen Joni Ernst R IA. Only thing she has going for her is she is a Female Veteran. Not enough time in and the comments are not worth reading, only this one is the part that really sticks OUT ‘voting with the McConnell establishment every stinking’ time.’

“Joni Ernst ran a great campaign and conservatives were thrilled when she won. She was going to make the establishment squeal, remember? Then she went to Washington and fell silent, voting with the McConnell establishment every stinking’ time.”

Time to start digging on her credentials. Iowa votes sound off.

Trump is 70, and you have to factor in that, he might not even serve out a first term, much less a second. That has to be figured in when choosing a VP. Do you want a RINO as a VP?

The VP has to be a Constitutional Conservative with a voting record we can check out.

Ernst is a McConnell tool. Better Pence for the job.

Heritage has Blackburn at 88%, her popularity in TN has gone down not up. Not really known on the national spot light like Pence is.

Corker on the other hand has a 53% rating from Heritage. RINO.

Your argument is moot if Clinton defeats Trump; I am for the VP that allows Trump to defeat Clinton. Trump has a serious deficit among women that can improve.
