The high-capacity gun magazine ban goes into effect July 1, 2017, and the language of the ban – contained in SB 1446 – leaves no question as to the limited options for owners of such magazines:

A person who, prior to July 1, 2017, legally possesses a large-capacity magazine shall dispose of that magazine by any of the following means: (1) Remove the large-capacity magazine from the state. (2) Prior to July 1, 2017, sell the large-capacity magazine to a licensed firearms dealer. (3) Destroy the large-capacity magazine. (4) Surrender the large-capacity magazine to a law enforcement agency for destruction.

What’s ironic is all these laws are not directed at the violent criminals, not directed at the violent street gangs, terrorist, etc, etc. It’s all directed at the law abiding. And those who force these laws on the people are surrounded by rings of armed security. Even where they work and live are completely surrounded by armed people, cameras, detectors, dogs, fences on and on. They obviously think of themselves as the royal elite.

I mean government is literally importing mass murdering terrorist into our country and this is their response?

Dear Gov. Brown and Democratic Reps in California,

If you are not going to put your blood relatives on the front line(door kickers, etc), then maybe you should mind your own business. Just like politicians of old, you send others to do the dirty work while you claim credit for making us safer.
What will you do or say when a father/mother gets killed by one of your jack booted thugs over a $29.95 Hi-Cap magazine? What will you do or say when that number reaches into the dozens? What happens when people on both sides of this issue die during early morning raids for Hi-Cap magazines?
It is a felony to possess one, yet Gov. Brown vetoed making it a felony to steal the gun the magazine goes into. What a bunch of worthless POSs.

I've heard Feds like to stake out LGS parking lots for out-of-state plates so you should be mindful of that if you try to buy ammo (which will now require background check and registration for purchase in CA).

You can buy a long gun out of state but you have to be a state resident to purchase a handgun.

They should leave the state and take their guns out of state. Jerry Brown is a criminal who needs o be removed from office. Granting voting rights to non-citizens is so outrageous as to constitute a crime.

California gun owners should send their guns, ammo, and related equipment out of the state - and go with them.

There is no justification for any American to live in, or visit, California today. The only exception would be a member of the military stationed on a U.S. military post in those latitudes.

(I always advise everyone to obey the law all the time, and I imagine that management here does, too!)

I'd just observe that 10 rounds of 7.62 NATO will make considerably larger holes than 10 rounds of 5.56 NATO. (Something that should have been learned by the gun grabbers after AWB 1.0 (1994) but apparently wasn't. We saw a resurgence of interest in larger calibers as a direct result of the 1994 law magazine capacity limits.)

Also, in 7.62, an M1A is about a gazillion times more accurate than an AK. If I lived in California, I would see this as a wonderful opportunity to buy some new guns, in a diversity of large calibers!

And think about all those folks involved in and or making a living and supporting their families with tax paying businesses. The ranges, all those involved in manufacturing and all aspects of this.
