>>It used to be that people cared about their fellowman more.<<
This isn’t a care issue. It is a silliness issue. The TSA is 99% OK, given what it is. It should never have been created for sure and it sure is dopey but it is a necessary evil. They HAVE responded to public outrage, just slowly.
The Trusted Traveler took a while but is in place. There are kiosks for entry in every major airport to speed up Border checks. The naked-o-vision is gone and soon drinks will be allowed again.
I am no huge fan of the TSA but I don’t see it as the pure evil many here see. I have interacted with the TSA well over a thousand times and other than the fact they see to know nothing about queuing, line management and crush-time staffing, I have not had any problems with them nor seen anything untoward.
Yes, they operate on autopilot, scanning grannies and kids and sometimes I read about idiots who go too far (again, I have never seen it), but that is because they are typical government drones.
So, having a personal tantrum for something you will probably encounter for a few minutes (I mean the officers, not the lines) seems to be counterproductive.
For 99% OK they could learn a 99% lesson from El Al.
And I really don’t need to elaborate more.
And if every expression of care is a tantrum... we need more tantrums.
Bullshit. They should never have become another arm of the federal police force.
What shortcuts do YOU use to circumvent the lines and the excessive hassle?
No, this was just a way for the government to create yet another public sector union from which to garner votes and collect contributions.
If you will remember, after 9/11 they took the existing staff of "security guards" (people who couldn't quite meet the rigorous employment standards necessary to work at Mickey D's) and turned them into federal employees.
Stupid in, stupid out.
Naked-0-vision is gone?
I believe my airport still has them.
