An elite Manhattan school is teaching white students as young as 6 that theyre born racist and should feel guilty benefiting from white privilege, while heaping praise and cupcakes on their black peers.
Administrators at the Bank Street School for Children on the Upper West Side claim its a novel approach to fighting discrimination, and that several other private New York schools are doing it, but even liberal parents arent buying it.
They complain the K-8 school of 430 kids is separating whites in classes where theyre made to feel awful about their whiteness, and all the kids of color in other rooms where theyre taught to feel proud about their race and are rewarded with treats and other privileges.
Ever since Ferguson, the school has been increasing anti-white propaganda in its curriculum, said a parent who requested anonymity because he has children currently enrolled in the school.
Bank Street has created a dedicated space in the school for kids of color, where theyre embraced by minority instructors and encouraged to voice their feelings and share experiences about being a kid of color, according to school presentation slides obtained by The Post.

They should teach them about unicorns too. White privilege is a myth; why not teach about other myths?
Stupid, F ing liberals. Reap what you sow.
More brain washing.
Nobody had sued yet? No federal investigation? Imagine if a Mississippi school were doing this and the races were switched.
Kids of Color Groups (KOC)
Bank Street offers Kids of Color (KOC) affinity groups in the Middle and Upper School, which are facilitated by a faculty member of color. The groups have similar goals: to provide a space where students of color are in a majority setting; to support students of color in the positive development of their racial and ethnic identity; to create an environment where children of color can feel free and comfortable to share their experiences and concerns; and to encourage students of color to develop age appropriate ownership and leadership in the dialogue about racial diversity. In Middle School, there is a racial identity curriculum in which all students participate. This curriculum has a focus on advocacy and identity, and all students take part in developmentally appropriate lessons and activities based on themes related to racial identity. These lessons are critical in developing a better understanding of diversity issues and creating advocates for social justice and equity. There is an affinity group component to this curriculum for kids of color, and families determine participation.
In Upper School, a student who identifies as a person of color can elect to attend monthly KOC meetings. The 10/11s and 11/12s comprise KOC Junior, and the 12/13s and 13/14s comprise KOC Senior.
Educators of Color (EOC)
The Educators of Color Group provides a space for Bank Street faculty who identify as people of color to be in a majority setting, share experiences and come together as a collective to influence initiatives in the school as a whole. EOC sometimes collaborates with WAAG to encourage further dialogue, understanding and collaboration. White Antiracist Affinity Group (WAAG)
The White Antiracist Affinity Group is a place for Bank Street educators who identify as white and antiracist to discuss and explore their experiences living in our racially inequitable society. The group seeks to learn about and examine white culture and privilege and how it plays out in their lives and teaching. WAAGs mission is to help white educators cultivate and affirm their anti-racist identities.

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer & Allies Parenting Group (LGBTQA)
The LGBTQA group represents the spectrum of sexual orientation and gender identity in the Bank Street community. The group comes together to identify common needs and goals in the school. Objectives include supporting one another and children, identifying mutual concerns and interests and determining how best to pursue them, and increasing visibility of the LGBTQ community.
etc. etc. etc. ad infinitum (yawn)
For those who read Terry Goodkind’s The Sword of Truth Series, this how the situation between the Haken and the Anders in the book Soul of the Fire would have started
NY City is the place that the Federal Reserve built. The great irony is that its leftist, collectivist attitudes thrive because it is the center for trading in the great American financialization and debt scam.
Take that away, and NY City crashes.
“If it is a private school and they accept no government funding can they not select their own curriculum? Do we not complain when government intercedes in catholic school curriculum?”
Do you think this does not cause extreme long term psychological damage and thus permanent brain damage to logical and critical thinking skills creating permanent disability to both “colors”?
You can argue what is “important” to learn all day long. Causing life long mental issues is something else entirely
I bet the kids are thinking WTF !!
You’re right. Absolutely not viewed as elite. It’s a place for nutty upper-west side liberals to send their kids.
I disagree. I think Elliot’s exercise is destructive and abusive. The Blue Eyes/Brown Eyes exercise introduces feelings of shame, inadequacy, resentment, anger, helplessness under the guise of letting someone walk in someone else’s shoes. It allows a teacher and children to denegrate each other in the guise of promoting tolerance. Children are supposed to learn how to think and feel from being hurt and we are supposed to believe that the experience will have no negative effects on their self esteem or adequacy because its all over when the teacher says it is.
If political correctness was not such a “God” no one would allow such a cruel sanctimonious experiment on children.
Cherishing the differences in all lives is much more empowering to every child. There are always special aspects of each person that can be recognized, opportunities to highlight each and every heritage and to work together on activities where assigned groups shakeup the boundaries. But that takes work and doesn’t allow the teacher to give vent to her/his anger & resentment in a socially acceptable manner.

Those school administrators belong in a foundation or under an overpass somewhere.
Yep— and if these dummies want to give these false teachers
$44,000 PER year that’s heir business......a big but though-
They are filling these heads of mush with a False Liberl/communist
Doctrine
From its website, quoting alums:
“It literally didnt occur to us that anyone should be treated differently for any reason. It was just accepted that there were differences between people.
Well, Sweetie, looks like things have changed at the Ol’ Alma Mater
“[Progressive education] considers art, music, and movement as equals to math and science and other academic disciplines.”
Yep, that’ll solve the world’s problems right there.
No wonder this school and its students are so screwed up
Exactly
In a few years, they’ll be gassing us.
Instead of “elite”, which while it has pretenses of being, it isn’t, call this and “expensive school for spoiled liberals”.
A truly elite school would be both very quiet about it, have enrollment restricted exclusively to superior performance of students, and have teachers and administrators determined to teach the maximum of real knowledge, without politics, political correctness, or other time wasting bulldada.
Students would graduate an elementary school of this type with (good) high school education equivalence, and graduate a high school of this type with (good) college educational equivalence. An elite college of this type would be teaching at a graduate level.
>>while heaping praise and cupcakes on their black peers.
That’s the ticket. Make them lazy and fat while the white kids are taught to work and act as productive members of society.
That’t not white privilege. That’s white supremacy. That’s the secret underpinnings of Progressivism.
