This Conservative Insurgent Pulls Close in CO Senate Without Establishment Help
Conservative Review ^ | 1 July, 2016 | Phil Shiver

After the establishment National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) showed favor to John Keyser in the GOP primary for Colorado’s Senate race, not many thought Lt. Daryl Glenn had a shot, except for conservatives.

But he easily won the primary and now he’s within striking distance of taking down liberal Sen. Michael Bennet, all without aid from Mitch McConnell and the Republican Party establishment.

The Senate Conservatives Fund (SCF) backed Glenn recently calling him a “truly exceptional candidate that will be a game changer for the country.”

Now, in an email to supporters, the SCF says they’re internal polling has Glenn down only five points:

he’s a retired Lt. Colonel, not a retired Lt. i know the magazine got it wrong, but it matters... personally, i would be suspect of any 21-year vet who retired from the Air Force Academy and never got promoted past his initial commission.

Wow.... you know the establishment will do everything it can to defeat him.

They seem ready to live with a Democratic Senate than to have conservatives in their majority.

Interesting analysis.
Unless he was so politically incorrect that he couldn’t make progress? Just pure speculation.

he was a Lt. Colonel.

i was simply pointing out the magazine article’s author or their proof readers don’t have any sort of BS detectors. i don’t think it’s even possible to have a 21 year career and not be promoted. whether enlisted or officer, promotions are a function of seniority and aptitude. even incompetents get promoted up so as to get rid of them.

without aid from Mitch McConnell and the Republican Party establishment.

So here’s the formula and we might as well all memorize it because it ALWAYS applies:

In any primary contest between a Republican Establishment candidate and a conservative candidate, if the establishment wins the conservative voters are expected to put aside their differences and support the establishment in the general election for the good of the party.

But if the conservative wins the primary, the establishment LEADERS are free to openly support the DEMOCRATS in the general election and to encourage other Republican voters to join in the treason against their own party.

Remember it well, folks. Remember it well.

Bennett is a weak candidate who has never had much of a base here and hasn’t accomplished anything of note in six years. The point is he is beatable. But Glenn needs money - the Dems will be pouring big bucks into this race.

Good news. Let’s send Bennett down the road as we did Udall.

Go Glenn!

A victory by Dylan Glenn would improve the quality of the U.S. Senate.

“A victory by Dylan Glenn would improve the quality of the U.S. Senate.”

Yes, it would, and it would be shocking, particularly given that black conservative Republican Dylan Glenn, who lost relatively narrowly to Sanford Bishop in the competitive GA-02 in 2000 and lost a primary run-off to Lynn Westmoreland in safely Republican GA-08 in 2004, has retired from politics (I think that he’s a lobbyist now) and doesn’t even live in Colorado ....

I think that you meant to say that if *Darryl* Glenn wins that it would improve the quality of the U.S. Senate. : p

And I agree 100%. Darryl Glenn is a true, principled conservative, and we have not just his words to support the proposition, he has a record to prove it.

The US Senate needs to be fumigated and started over with real Americans who give a damn about their country. That would be a good first step. Same goes for the House of Lords.

Haha, when Darryl Glenn first came on the scene I also mistakenly thought it was Dylan Glenn and wondered when he moved to CO. Those names that start with “D” all look alike.
