Silly on both sides. The town has to know they will get grief over the decision. The restaurant owner knws about the banner allottment ordnance.
Solution. Paint it on the storefront. Then it isn't a banner.

Liberals don’t like patriotism.
Its that simple. Not that they’re embarrassed in their lack of pride in our country.
Such stupid regulations don’t fly with me.

Business owner knows the rules, but chooses to break them.
City stuck with either making them take it down, or possibly facing legal consequences for selective enforcement.
All are equal under the law.
If they allowed this one to be up past time, any other business owner could argue that they should be allowed to have their banner up longer.
Then they are back to having trashy banners all over the place.
BTW, I make my living selling banners and t-shirts and the like.
I am also on my HOA board and PID board. You can’t just pick and choose what rules you are going to enforce, just because you like or don’t like what the sign says.

Easy solution! Take down the banner and replace it with a permanent sign.

Had they displayed a banner reading, Allahu Akbar! no one would have bothered them, and they could have kept it up forever.

Penfield has a strict banner allotment policy. Businesses are only allowed to post banners for a total of three weeks out of the year. At one point we had banners all over the town and the town just looked trashy and our residents said enoughs enough, town supervisor Tony LaFountain told WHEC. Yeah, right. Banners made the town look trashy, and residents objected and demanded banner clean up.
Bald-faced lies - get yours today!
Let's see, New Years, Easter, 4th, end/start of school, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Ooooopsy, you're out of "banner time" by the end of the year for Christmas - but don't worry, you can't say that name anyway! Hohoho!

But rules are rules and the town board does not seem interested in accommodating Jennifers patriotic banner. Ask the town council if they support New York state primary delegates being bound to Donald Trump.

So Jennifer decided to ask the town for a permit so she could post a God Bless America banner on the front of her restaurant. She wanted to display the banner from Memorial Day through Independence Day. There was just one significant problem.
That she had to ask to do this is THE problem.

The very fact that they need to have a permit to a God Bless America banner is a great demonstration of government overreach.
What is the difference between the tyranical micro-management style of the E.U. and the tyrants in our own governments - local state and federal?

Have been following this story from TX and read that the owner put up the sign following the Orlando terrorist attack. From what I read the owner seems bold in her faith and patriotism.
I’ll be within 30 minutes of that restaurant next week, and hope to have lunch there and shake the owner’s hand.
