Conservative Party Chair: Trump Could Turn NY Around

New York Conservative Party Chairman Mike Long predicts that Donald Trump would make his state “very competitive” in the fall.

“He’s running extremely well in Suffolk and Nassau Counties and upstate,” Long told me, citing “privilege polling” he had recently seen. “There’s a revolution against politics as usual taking place and, while winning New York is difficult for any Republican, Donald Trump is making it competitive.

"In so doing, he can change the dynamics of the election this November.”

Long underscored that support for Trump was “overwhelming” among the party’s 287-member state committee.

With New York one of the five states in which candidates can appear on multiple ballot lines and have all of their votes counted in an aggregate total, the Conservatives are expected to officially “cross endorse” Trump at their state committee’s September meeting.

The state is also eyeing two important Republican primary contests for open U.S. House seats: the 19th District, in which former State Assembly Minority Leader John Faso rolled up nearly 70 percent of the vote, and the 22nd District, in which State Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney emerged the winner in a three-candidate race with 42 percent of the vote.

I've been saying this for many, many, MANY months and Long is correct; as am I! :-)

How is that possible?

Well, ACORN is no more, but the WORKERS AND FAMILY PARTY is the same thing and it always delivers the city and the state for the damned Dems. OTOH, that party/group of garbage, is now in complete disarray, has little power at all, and little funding. And many N.Y.Dems are for Trump!

And many New Yorkers truly HATE Hillary!

For those who don't know.......Long is a good guy!

They do their polling when due to conservatives being at work there is a 65-35 predominance of RATs among the respondents.

Well then. Why doesn't New York just change it's 'rules' ? Just like the politicians of both parties keep insisting that it is OK when they want to do it .

Obama beat Romney by 28 % in 2012 in New York State.

In the 2016 primary, not only did Hillary get more than twice the votes that Trump did, but Bernie also beat Trump by over 50 %.

People, let’s try to be somewhat grounded in reality. A state does not swing by 29 % in one election.

They asked the head of the Conservative Party how well Trump will do? What’s he supposed to say? He might do really well and only lose by 18 %. ?

No he probably won’t win NY. However, he can make it much more competitive than in years past. If polls in NY start to show Trump trailing in the 5 to 10 point range, it will be a pretty good indication that Clinton will lose nationally by a significant margin.

He won’t win NY, but that was a more competitive race between Hillary and Sanders, so more people showed up.

I’ll bet by October more and more downticket R’s and even D’s will campaign this way: “elect me and I will support the Trump agenda to make America again”.

One small problem with your thinking. The NY primary was closed, only Republicans could vote in their primary, only Democrats in theirs.

There are many more registered Democrats in New York than registered Republicans.

In the General, everyone votes, including Independents. They do not have to vote party lines, they can vote however they wish.

I am being snarky, I realize. Using that example really irritates me, it’s a perfect example of statistics lie, liars use statistics.

This is the kind of positive, can do thinking the rest of the party needs! Give this guy a promotion and put him closer to the front of the Trump Train!
