As a postscript, it would be a Ryan endorsement anyway from these oathbreakers: if oral, worth the paper it’s written on.

If they don't endorse, they won't want to speak at the convention. It would be very awkward to speak and not endorse. In fact, that is how the media would write the story - the speakers refused to endorse.

So, this is another one of those problems that isn't a real problem.

“The story says he can’t really do this.”

Romney locked the entire Tea Party coalition out of the 2012 convention.

Trump is now the presumptive leader of the Republican party. He can do plenty.

Yes. And as part of running an actual US presidential campaign with a chance of defeating Hillary Clinton he might want to avoid the lamp questions that aren’t really pertinent to saving the nation.

I don’t see those two losers as loose ends. By being passive aggressive and not endorsing, they are taking away from Trump’s momentum and the perception of unity.

Maybe RNC should just cut their funding until they comply.

Trump has to live with the fact that he will have enemies, and rise above that.

His big draw is the populist draw.

What is a “presumptive nominee” and why would he not be the nominee? He received far more than the required votes for first ballot...

right! and pretty obvious, too

these Aholes make fools of themselves... they run for a nomination... they lose (okay, out of 16 candidates 15 were destined to lose)......and then they act like jerks about it...THAT is what a REAL LOSER is like.......just losing is nothing to be ashamed of.... acting like a jerk about losing IS the shameful part)

Well yes they do actually have to cast votes. Do you think there will be enough delegates to stop Trump? I was worried about that for a while, but not so much anymore.

Trump is promising a production extravaganza for the convention. Seems like he has control of it, but maybe not.

Until they cast their votes, he is the presumptive nominee.

Unless I’m losing my mind , they were all told to sign the pledge. Trump signed— I have see it absolutely. Where are the others? Did they just trick Trump? Look at this from the New York Times
“With little warning, committee officials called and emailed campaign representatives requesting that they put in writing what every candidate, .... has already pledged to do.

“I ______ affirm that if I do not win the 2016 Republican nomination for president of the United States, I will endorse the 2016 Republican presidential nominee regardless of who it is,” the document, on R.N.C. letterhead, states. “I further pledge that I will not seek to run as an independent or write-in candidate nor will I seek or accept the nomination for president of any other party.”http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/trump-cruz-kasich-must-endorse-or-no-convention-slot/article/2594955?custom_click=rss
Why aren’t the media and everyone screaming bloody thunder about these LIARS?? These men have no honor . They are liars and poltroons!! Their word doesn’t mean anything.

“I believe they signed the “I will support” the nominee....but he is NOT the nominee yet....only the presumptive nominee.”

That’s lawyer think. Parsing words and splitting hairs like that, is for weaklings, cowards, and backstabbing politicians.

Any honorable person would have thrown their support to the presumptive nominee by now.

What really interested me was how easily and quickly they broke their word - like they’d been doing it all their lives and knew exactly how.

“A big part of it, I believe, was his dominionistic theology. God has handed the world to us Christians on a silver platter. Errrrr... not quite. Not yet.”

That theology has wreaked a lot of havoc in Christendom and doesn’t hold up under Church age scrutiny. Same as the prosperity con, there’s lots of running to the Old Testament to find promises to national Israel and tease them out for post-Cross believers. In the New Testament one finds a consistent REVERSAL. Earthly defeat, but heavenly victory. Financial weakness but spiritual riches. Rejection by the world but rich welcome with God!
