UK's departure makes EU disintegration 'practically irreversible': Soros

Brexit, combined with Europe's festering migrant crisis, has created a "catastrophic scenario" that has grave consequences for Britain and the world economy, Soros wrote, "making the disintegration of the EU practically irreversible."

Noting that Scotland is agitating to leave the U.K., Soros said the county itself "may not survive" the decision to leave Europe.

"The consequences for the real economy [from Brexit] will be comparable only to the financial crisis of 2007-2008," wrote the billionaire, adding that a domino effect could potentially end decades of continental unification.

"But the implications for Europe could be far worse," Soros cautioned. "Tensions among member states have reached a breaking point, not only over refugees, but also as a result of exceptional strains between creditor and debtor countries within the euro zone."

Soros, a polarizing figure who is known for financing left-wing causes, is an enthusiastic backer of European integration. In 1992, he dealt a fatal blow to Britain's participation in Europe's exchange rate mechanism—the precursor to the single currency.

The billionaire also appears to be profiting from the turmoil stemming from the U.K.'s vote.

Soros was a major backer for EU integration of “Syrian” refugees.

This is all BS. There is no reason I can see why having a EU or not having a EU should affect world economies ... much less one member leaving the EU. These drama queens want to talk down the market and use that pain as an incentive for greater socialism.

Create massive chaos on the one hand, then short markets with the other. Why, someone could get massively wealthy doing that. Massively powerful too.

If Soros says it, then it is not a prediction but a promise.

“””The billionaire also appears to be profiting from the turmoil stemming from the U.K.’s vote.”””

Soros is short the equity markets, so it should come as no surprise that he is talking down the markets.

Contrary to what the leftists believe, Soros only cares about himself.

If by chance Soros’ desires become aligned with leftist desires, then that is ok.

Just like the Clintons whose prime interest is making millions for themselves, so is Soros.

If somebody has to be unhappy about Brexit, better it by George Soros than me.

Disintegration?

I’m waiting to hear about Soros disintegrating down to his own personal lowest common denominator, i.e., a decaying little pile of fecal matter.

Did Soros really refer to Europe's festering migrant crisis, or was that just editorial commentary from the writer?

The billionaire also appears to be profiting from the turmoil stemming from the U.K.'s vote.

Of course he is. His modus operandi has always been to sow discord and profit from it.

He reminds me of the alien in the original Star Trek episode, "Day of the Dove," which feeds on negative emotion and invades the ship in order to cause massive discord and fighting to feed its insatiable appetite. Soros is truly evil.

The way EU is structured now, probably is little different than what may have been achieved by Adolf Hitler, had he chosen to expand the Third Reich through persuasion rather than military might, much like the Fabian Society had been doing in England for a half century before the rise of the Third Reich. The end result is very little different, except there were not mass exterminations of the “undesirables”, but the submerging of individual consciousness is as stultifying as as the groupthink that gripped Germany from 1933 up until the formal persecution of the Jews and minorities began, in November 1938. At that point it was clear that muscle and not sweet talking and cajoling of the general population was going to be the dominating factor.

The EU has its designated despised group, the practicing Christians and the persons who choose to disagree with the current wave of political correctness, which are demonized frequently and with no apparent remorse on the part of the Great Consensus that now governs the European Union. For obscure reasons, and based on no real study of the matter, the EU has imported all kinds of non-citizens, who upon arrival, immediately establish a colony with all the customs and trappings of whatever hellhole country they had just journeyed from, with no intention whatsoever of ever integrating with the host country. This is a sort of reverse invasion, in which it seems the Europeans, unable to stand prosperity, have to import MORE poverty and depravity, and an abject preemptive surrender to a minority that holds nothing in common with the Europe of decades past. But it sure is a great tool for further demonizing the shrinking class of freedom-minded people who see this invasion as only another means of suppressing dissent and economic opportunity.

Of course George Soros does not like it when there are signs of resistance, as exemplified by “Brexit”, and the general awakening among people who had not paid much attention before.

It matters little whether the socialism as practiced is of Marxist sources, like Communism, or of the non-Marxist sources, like both Fabian Socialism and the early stirrings of the Nationalist Socialist German Workingmen’s Party. The road always leads to living off other people’s money, until it runs out, then there is a settling of accounts that can be remarkably brutal and on the short term, pretty destructive.

So much corruption and self-interest at the top levels of the EU governing body that it is collapsing.

Sort of like the Republican Party.

Governments become instruments of corruption. Bigger governments become bigger instruments of bigger corruption.

For example, many government programs are so big that it would cost literally $millions to root out even part of the corruption and graft, so the governing officials allow it to continue and write it off as part of the cost of doing business.

Gyorgy Schwartz always operated by chaos and destruction and profit from it. That’s how he always operated since the time he turned in his fellow Jews and then looted their property, all with the approval of the Nazis. He is evil to the core.

Right. The EU will collapse of its own weight, with or without Brexit. Brexit just gave it a little push. Too big, too corrupt, too unresponsive to its citizens.

Yes. Soros couldn't care less about the UK or European unity. He is a supreme psychopath. Like a villain in a James Bond movie his criminal ambitions are global in scope. Guaranteed he has some sizeable financial stake in destabilizing the European situation.
